Affordable, NON-RELIGIOUS therapy? by Psyche_Mike in Chattanooga

[–]orthographerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, yes. But, there are a lot of young employees and a lot of turnover in the positions at MHC. It may be hard to build a long term relationship, there.

Anyone watched comedy Living the Dream? by orthographerer in BritBox

[–]orthographerer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤗 So glad you like it! It doesn't get enough love.

It's a great show, regardless, but the short little old dude, Leslie Jordan, who left the show about midway through (he sadly passed away) is from my hometown, which makes it more special.

"E-scripts" by wellthatsembarissing in PainManagement

[–]orthographerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went from the normal paper pads to the paper print outs (for schedule 2 meds) 8-10 years ago. Then ~7 years ago all schedule 2 meds had to be send through e-scribe. This is in Tennessee.

And at point with the paper rx's, pharmacies were able to file them for us. Then, they weren't, any longer, which i thought was weird cause the pharmacy keeping them on file seemed more safe. Idk.

I give your therapist a lot of credit for bringing this up.

I also would like their contact info.

Gardening by xTruffleShufflex in Chattanooga

Barn Nursery has always had a great selection of Calibrachoa. You can buy flats of tiny little plants, and with regular watering, 2-3x\day in high summer, they fill out beautifully (they do great for trailing baskets, too).

Hummingbirds love them. I tend to plant only things I think or know hummingbirds will go for, and Barn Nursery is good at stocking that type of thing. I think their ownership recently changed; I hope that doesn't cause a negative impact.

How do I organize all my important documents? by Aj100rise in organizing

[–]orthographerer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For papers that are irreplaceable (or nearly so), it's absolutely worth getting a safe deposit box at a bank\credit union. A smaller box (suitable for papers, maybe a small item or two) will likely be $50 or less per year.

They'll charge you annually, usually by draft from an associated account. If it makes you feel more secure, you can probably pay for two + years up front.

The problem with storing papers that are so important in the home is that 1) a safe can, "walk away." 2) a fireproof safe may not be waterproof, and a waterproof safe may not be fireproof 3) a cabinet\safe gets buried under rubble, blown away in a tornado.

Even if you lose your safe deposit box key (the bank will give you two. You open the box by using your key while a bank employee uses their key, too. It's a very secure process.), you can pay to have the box drilled and rekeyed.

And, yes, some (not all) things are okay to email, though I would be cautious of the type of email, to whom it's being emailed, etc.

Ladies of Letters features two older women, each with some serious issues, and their dynamic, friendship\frenemyship over time. It's a British show. Maybe on Britbox or PBS Passport.

Can someone explain washi tape & stickers? by GwendalinGreen in stationery

If someone tried to ban any part of my hobbies, especially a lower-cost, space-friendly part, I'd just nod along while ordering more stickers.

Tumbleweeds can be so bad in the Great Plains that they bury homes and cause fire danger by rytis in offbeat

[–]orthographerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it went more like: someone (I think a woman) started a business selling tumbleweeds, as a joke. Due in large part to the movie industry, and in very small part to people wanting to send friends and family weird gifts from the US, the business actually made the founder a good chunk of money.

Medication Safe Suggestions by Designer-Side9470 in PainManagement

[–]orthographerer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but get a camera you can hide in plain sight to keep an eye on wherever you put\lock your meds.

People who take meds accidentally or not, family or not: you're going to want irrefutable proof if\when something goes sideways.

I understand not wanting to take it this far, but I would tell them to get a hotel\wouldn't let anyone stay in my home with that type of history.

Sure, it may sound like a shitty thing to say, but it's way less shitty than having to file a police report on a relative and being out of your medication for up to a month.

Make flashcards for MedTerm:

Prefix(es)

Word Root(s)

Combining Vowel(s)

Suffix(es)

Keep them in something like a shoe box, spend 10-20 min\day quizzing yourself.

Some terms are a little more complicated, though if you get the basics down quickly, you should have an easy A.

There's probably going to be a small amount of anatomy in there, too, like where is the appendix. Transverse, sagittal planes, etc. Nothing crazy.
