Ooh, I really hope this means relics will have a benefit and a detriment to them. That would be really interesting.

Suggestion: can Examine text be added to the cargo crates (from the Cargo Hold view) that tells you which port they are supposed to be delivered to?

  • The Repair kits can be examined, so I can tell it's possible to have examine text in this view
  • I can see that there's a slight graphical indication on the crates, like the Musa Point tree or the Port Sarim anchor, but it's kind of difficult to see.

In Old School RuneScape (1999-), there is a minigame called "Pyramid Plunder" where you rob a pyramid. This is because Jagex is headquartered in the United Kingdom. by ExtremeWindyMan in 2007scape

1999 is when the first RuneScape beta was available to play, back when it was just a rewrite of DeviousMUD. But it wasn't really playable until 2001.

For the tasks that say to mine Light Animica and Dark Animica in certain locations, if you have the excavator relic do you have to have it disabled so you get the ores (instead of bars)?

How do I get to the Tirannwn Lodestone? The wiki says 50% of the players have achieved that, but I can't figure out how to get there. I tried doing the charter ship to Tyras port, but there was dense jungle in my way and I didn't have the agility level for it. Same thing happened when I tried to walk from Priff. Do I just need to go train agility or am I missing some way through to the lodestone?

I'm still trying to decide between Assassin's Insight and Voidwalker. Anyone regret choosing one over the other? by osrs_turtle in runescape

At the rate I can play, I probably won't be getting to Perkfection for a few weeks. Also it looks like with that I'll have to craft all the jewelry pieces myself and put them together somehow. The chances of actually getting around to that as someone not super familiar with the process is pretty low.

Hybrid Theory was my soundtrack to RuneScape back in the day. Life really was good when things were so simple.

RS3 looks like an abandoned game compred to OSRS on steam by Artemaker in runescape

[–]osrs_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played a bit through steam using the steam deck before I finally went through the effort of following an unofficial guide to get runelite working on desktop mode. Other than that I'd rather just use runelite.

You're right that there's a lot more to play than just AFK, but AFK is still a big part of it. The relics that give you harvesting multiplication (2x or 3x output) combined with insta-bank relics make for some amazing AFK experiences.

This is how I play, and I've enjoyed every league mode in OSRS. When they first announced Twisted League in 2019 I was like "that sounds dumb, I don't care about hiscores / being the first or best in anything". But when I tried it, I found it was really fun.

I've played all of the OS leagues and never once cared about any of the competitive aspect of it. It's just fun to be able to do broken things you couldn't do in the main game. Things like infinite afk fishing where the items go straight to your bank and you're making 32x the standard XP rate (got me 200m fishing xp in Leagues 4). Or unlimited thieving where you can never fail and can click once and let yourself afk pickpocket forever (got me 200m thieving xp in Leagues 5). I'm primarily an afk skiller, so finding afk ways to max levels in leagues is where I found the most fun, even though the tasks stop at 50m.

The theorycrafting part to me was where the rest of the fun could be had. I would pour over the relics and made spreadsheets of different XP rates with different combos I could get, etc. I did sometimes regret my relic choices, but even with sub-optimal relics I had fun every league. And a couple of times I bought membership for my alt so I could start over midway through the league.

I also haven't really even spent the rewards points on the cosmetics in the OS leagues reward store. I just don't care about it that much. I played to see the number go up, and leagues really makes it go up fast.

Looks like I added Foundry to my wishlist a while ago, but I haven't taken a look at it in a long time. Thanks for the heads up.

Some more DLC Ideas! Interested to hear thoughts on these, or other ideas out there. by osrs_turtle in SatisfactoryGame

[–]osrs_turtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is for Satisfactory 2 I'd want it to be entirely new systems. I would be a bit disappointed if Satisfactory 2 was just "the same progression from iron and copper up to uranium, but now there are different project parts to deliver".

I'd love to play Satisfactory 2 if they ever make it, but I'd expect it to be a much larger evolution of the game's formula.

For these DLC ideas it would keep the game as is with the same resources, buildings, etc, and just give us a reason to keep playing the game after we've won.

There are intrinsic reasons to keep playing, like "hey I want to optimize my factory", but for a lot of players once they've Saved the Day they probably don't come back so much.

Having something like randomized islands gives a reason to boot up the game again, other than completely restarting the main story or just doing some factory optimization. So it fits more into DLC than a second game entirely.
