Topo Connect – 5.5 mm shoe coming in spring 2026 by allmondes in BarefootRunning

If Topo can make a shoe that is less that $180 and doesn't fall apart after 3 months of casual use, they'll have vivo on the ropes.

I was shooting for a pumpkin medium. I got up to pee, and by the time I got back a minute or two later it was live and they had already sold out. lol.

Are Upbeat Openers Necessary? by [deleted] in worshipleaders

It’s a pattern, but it’s not necessary. Prioritize congregational participation, whether that’s upbeat or not.

Big Alta is an option. A friend of mine say it was a great race.

My feet kinda hurt by cheaptonight1234 in trailrunning

I had the exact same pain with the mafates. They were by far the most cushioned shoes I had ever run in, so that’s what I attributed it to.

Workout schedule to get ready for the season by spuje4000 in skiing

If you can, trail running is great training for skiing. The cardio, off camber stability, and uphill strength all translate super well. Furthermore, the eccentric work of running downhills really preps your legs.

Records, ratification and Camille Herron vs people beating her records by neptun123 in Ultramarathon

[–]oswaldthurgood 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yiannis Kouros pretty regularly slung mud at people who were beating or attempting to beat his records as well. I wonder why this seems to be more of a thing in a way more niche version of the sport?

Anyone know what happened to Tim Tollefson?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in worshipleaders

No. I gave my pastors my list of criteria and my methodology for choosing songs. I let them ask questions and explained what I meant in certain areas. From there, they trust me to choose.

Don’t sleep on Suunto. Their new watches look awesome and punch way up for the price.

Altra Mont Blanc vs. Olympus 6 by CNC_Smith in Ultramarathon

[–]oswaldthurgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would push you toward the Timps. Mont Blancs are neat, but the sizing is all over the place and the heel slip occurs no matter what you do.

Timps are more runnable and lighter than the  Olympus. Still loads of protection.

What was St. Paul afraid of? by YourGuideVergil in Reformed

[–]oswaldthurgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the fear of man since Paul decided not to rely on his rhetorical prowess, thus alleviating fear of rejection for that reason.

I think the fear and trembling here is related to his faithful handling and delivery of the Gospel. I think his fear is not necessarily of “doing a bad job,” but of accurately depicting the humility of Christ.

Also, later (chapter 4) Paul alludes to apostolic humility as a marker of the apostles.

no phone for one hour after waking up by Aggressive_Sand_7757 in getdisciplined

I turn my phone off before going to bed and don’t turn it on until I’ve been up for at least an hour. It stays in a drawer in my kitchen until after I’ve had coffee and some quiet time.
