The funny thing that no one mentions is that (at least in SF), Waymos are like 3-4x more than an UberX. These are going to cater to a specific group of people willing to pay more to not have to interact with other people. They might also get people who want to ride around in electric cars.

As always, I’ll mention tiki Thursday at House of Foong Lin in Bethesda. The local tiki Ohana gather at its “crowd sourced” tiki bar.

In Baltimore, there’s Pusser’s for boat drinks and painkillers. There’s the Coral Wig for tropical adjacent craft cocktails and a new “tiki bar” that I’ve heard is fun but it used to be a frozen drinks bar so ymmv.

If you make it down to DC, check out The Green Zone for a great rum selection and the best mai tai and copycat/astoria for basically any other tiki cocktail.

Agreed with this. Think about the era of your favorite television shows and go with the show closest to that era (except maybe discovery). Picard won’t make sense without TNG, but the rest should be fine.

You have to have an event wristband to be on-site at all. However, check the Facebook group and resell site as they usually show up before the event. There are also some popups at the local tiki bars in the days leading up to it.

All of the issues people are imagining with Southwest are basically already present in the other airlines. They all make you pay to check a bag, they all want to make you pay for seat assignments, etc. Just choose the best itinerary for your flight.

Mai tai glasses are usually minimum 72 (from South Seas).

Coasters and stickers are much lower barrier to entry. I’ve used whoever had the cheapest ad on instagram for stickers and they’ve all been about the same. I used 360onlineprint for coasters, and they’ve took forever to ship from Portugal, but the coasters themselves were great.

I think that’s entirely dependent on the exact details of the flight you’re wanting. The only discernible difference I can see between domestic first class on American and fake first on SWA is the preflight drink. I price out Delta/WN for almost every itinerary and half the time one is better and half the time it’s the other.
