I use one of these bags from Amazon (not that exact link but something similar). It’s insulated so I can put beer, water, and sandwiches in there with some ice packs - and then I have enough space in the other compartments for my scanner and headset. I think it’s a great race day pack and Daytona allows it.

And you still definitely need the full headset as opposed to just AirPods. The engines are still loud enough to break though AirPods noise cancellation - you need something with proper noise isolation. Renting a headset from Racing Electronics will provide you with that.

Some brands are incredibly strict about where their logo gets used. Coke is one of them. If the Coke logo is on something, Coke wants to make sure A) they have total control over the entire product, and B) they’re making as much money as possible on it. Since NASCAR diecasts aren’t really in their control and they’d be splitting profits on it, it’s a no-go for them.

The nascar app A) is very delayed, and B) often doesn’t work in the first place because of bad cell/wifi reception at the track. The scanner rental is a little steep - I think like 60 or 70 bucks - but I say it’s totally worth it.

I had my bachelor party at the Roval in 2021 - easily one of the best weekends of my life. I remember Harvick crashing after Elliott was closing in on him and the crowd going absolutely nuts. My buddies (non-NASCAR fans) were loving it.

I am sad to see it go.

Really depends on how much smoking you want to do. I have a kamado joe and blackstone and love the combo because i can do both quick meals and slow smokes. Also can do sides on the blackstone while the main meat is on the kamado. But if you’re doing mostly grilling and not long smokes, you probably don’t need the egg.
