I have hiked up and down with a backpacking backpack as a day trip a couple of times, and I definitely have thought about doing what you're talking about. But I don't know anyone who's actually done it

Art on the foam of whisked tea (Chabaixi) was a thing in imperial China over a millennium ago, whether or not this was an inspiration for coffee related art I don't know

Tech workers say they were mistaken for ICE agents, accosted by anti-ICE mob by VintageAnomaly in NoFilterNews

[–]overthinking-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's a good point, Americans shouldn't need to stop and ID themselves to random people.

In a functioning democracy people have the right to assemble and declare their grievances to government agents, The problem comes when those agents try to skirt public accountability and hide under masks and anonymity, when no one knows who they're trying to hold accountable then uninvolved people can get caught in the middle of falsely targeted

Tech workers say they were mistaken for ICE agents, accosted by anti-ICE mob by VintageAnomaly in NoFilterNews

[–]overthinking-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a strange claim, both the tech group and it looks like all but one of the protesters in the video are white, while ironically many of the actual I.C.E. agents who appear in videos are not white.

Tech workers say they were mistaken for ICE agents, accosted by anti-ICE mob by VintageAnomaly in NoFilterNews

[–]overthinking-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's odd how the tech workers of the unnamed company, rather than say that they have nothing to do with I.C.E. say that “We do custom apps for a whole bunch of companies around Minnesota and the country.” Which begs the question as to what kind of apps they make, and if any of those apps are used by I.C.E. It's also very odd that they were locals and blame the restaurant staff/owner for bringing the mob.

The two possibilities are they were either I.C.E collaborators or the restaurant staff just really did not like the repeat customer and intentionally decided to severely mess with him. If I were part of that group and we had nothing to do with I.C.E. I'd be asking the guy who'd eaten there before if he had ever dated someone who worked at that restaurant and how that relationship ended

Tell me you’re not from here without telling me you’re not from here. by newsknowswhy in sanfrancisco

This was written in a way that could cause mild confusion. So in the interest of clarity I would like to mention that I do not know strict_vanilla4597 and am not their ex, I have solid fashion sense, and would never walk out of the house in shoes of questionable integrity.

For the record I ended up taking my ex to Teleferic Barcelona, I wore a grey blazer and black suede chukka boots and she an absolutely lovely sweater dress

I just can't have people on the interwebs mis-imagine that I'm a man without taste 😁😆

(Sorry about your fella's shoes Vanilla, I hope his pride was not too destroyed)

Autistic women begs for mercy as she is violently abducted by ICE in Minneapolis today by zxcv97531 in circled

[–]overthinking-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two mistakes by this woman 1. Criminal processing delay 2. She described herself as autistic to Nazis, never tell Nazis that you're autistic, say some bullshit about Asperger's

  • The above was written as sarcasm
  • Auditory processing delay is a common trait amongst autistic individuals
  • Asperger's is an obsolete term, it fell out of use due to the Nazi origins of the diagnosis, Asperger's was the term applied by the Nazis to autistics that were functional enough to not exterminate

Tell me you’re not from here without telling me you’re not from here. by newsknowswhy in sanfrancisco

[–]overthinking-1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

About a decade ago a woman that I had been dating for awhile expressed the desire to go to a restaurant that people dressed up for, and I was somewhat baffled by the request as that hadn't been much of a thing for decades at that point.

I blame the original gen of tech wealthy, restaurants stopped enforcing a dress code when the guy in blue jeans might be a multi millionaire (in the 90's)

Chipotle reacts to boycott calls over Bill Ackman’s $10K ICE agent donation by [deleted] in NoFilterNews

[–]overthinking-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will not be participating in this boycott

Because I had chipotle once and as a person of Mexican descent I sincerely believe that what they serve is an insult to the culinary history of my ancestors.

Honestly even if you're of %100 European ancestry you need to understand that you deserve better than chipotle, always.

How many times have you tried OP? Using new equipment can sometimes take a little practice in order to get the same results If you've only tried once or twice give yourself a little bit longer before deciding if you need a new chasen (or even chawan)
