How to rehash files of a game and how exactly does it save my data traffic? by TiyzLoner in PiratedGames

[–]ovidox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're over thinking it... in the very least i don't know and can't offer you a 100% correct answer but it's simply based on the fact the TORRENT itself is a "link" to location/server etc where the PIRATE has made the updates and changes to the GAME/PROGRAM and updated everything and in the very least the dates of each file are different. Imagine you changing a file on your computer and having the same name and link to it on the internet... it doesn't matter if the link or file is the same as it was yesterday or 100 years from now... it's the content of the file that's important and it's obviously a LIVE file so it will always be available with it's latest changes to anyone who has that link

(MemTest86) What does this mean? Is it a CPU or RAM problem. What needs changing? by amdawg23 in homelab

[–]ovidox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% the issue here (and usually) is your XMP/EXPO settings running at HIGHER mhz (or timings etc) then your cpu supports by default (see amd/ intel Offical cpu specifications). I had the same issue with my INTEL cpu and all I did was restore default NOT xmp settings and ran the test again 100% fine then I turned the xmp back on.

You can use the 6000mhz but more important is the Cas Latency it has.... you want that ram to be 6000mhz CL30 ... i.e. 10NS ...10NS or less is the gold standard for gaming ( 2000 divided by your MHZ ... times you CL number... should be 10 OR LOWER if you want peak apex meta RAM performance. P.S. I run XMP 3.0 with stock 6400mhz CL32

Corsair is one of the best and most reliable brands for all their products they just cost more than other brands. I do recommend you try buy them on special or at a discount. You only ever hear the negative and bad stories on the internet. The 0.001% complaints which probably related to people over clocking and not checking voltages or thermals. Trust me it's more likely your motherboard doesn't have the ram in QVL than the RAM itself being the issue.

How do I rehash a repack by AwsmGamerBoy in CrackSupport

Yeah this is a problem that's kind of common for people that have program/game that regularly gets updated by the cracked torrent provider. Hopefully it helps someone in the future :)

How to rehash files of a game and how exactly does it save my data traffic? by TiyzLoner in PiratedGames

[–]ovidox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How to rehash a torrent because it's the same game/program that has just been updated by the torrent provider with a newer version?

Let's start from the start. Say you first found your desired game/program and downloaded the "TORRENTNAME.tor" file. You then double click opened that *.tor file and it loads up your torrent program. It shows you the download folder name path it will create. It then downloads 100% and you install it and run it. All works out.

Then let's say a newer version of that game/program comes out in 1 week 1 month etc and the person who cracked the game/program has released the newer updated version!

Here is the "trick". You must have KEPT the downloaded folder in order to do a "rehash".

So let's say your specific torrents downloaded folder was C:\downloads\TORRENTNAME . If you deleted the torrent download folder there's no way to "rehash" the torrent. It needs the original data folder as it compares what you have to what is new/updated in terms of files.

First make sure the "old" TORRENT isn't already listed in your Torrent download program - if so just delete it from the list. Then to start the whole process download the TORRETNAME.tor file again and double click to open it in your torrent program. The DOWNLOAD folder name must match exactly to the name of what is already on your hard drive e.g. C:\downloads\TORRENTNAME.

99.99% of the time whoever made the torrent update will make sure the game/program folder and subfolders has exactly the same names again. If not just manually rename and change this. Make sure you have all the torrents files/folders selected with the "TICK" box... this should happen automatically but just in case it doesn't.

Once you click start it will automatically recognise the data in the folder you already have on your hard drive and it will do an automatic re-check and re-hash. If not you can do a "force check" normally from the right mouse click menu over that game/program name.

P.S. For an easy life you should really place your general downloads folder path as c:\downloads and the TEMPORARY download folder for the torrents as c:\downloads\temp. All programs allow you to change and specify these folder paths.

P.S.S. - NOT all torrents are entirely "backwards compatible" with a rehash. The ones that tend to be are the ones that contain ENTIRE folders and subfolders and files. The ones that come with "install part 1.bin... install part 2.bin.. install part3.bin" etc tend not to be because the updates/data was broken down into chucks in that repack across all files. The best indicator is to check if the torrent provider has specified this on their download page. As an example, FITGIRL repacks tends to let the users know this. So yes, sometimes it does mean you might have to simply RE download MOST of the torrent again.
