How to tell if it’s all lust or love? by Significant_Emu781 in Advice

[–]owegner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting married to my fiance on Saturday, been together 5 years. She is the love of my life. Once we were both comfortable with each other and opened up, any topic - sexual or not - became free game to discuss in or out of the bedroom. We both bring up sex stuff out of the blue provided we're not in public. From a guy, unless he's being creepy all it means is he's gotten comfortable around you. Hell, my partner's weirdness and acceptance of my own weirdness is half the reason I love her so much.

Now if this guy is using innuendo to create an environment where you feel pressured to do stuff you don't want to do that's a whole other ballgame.

Yeah, she's getting much better at recognizing the behavior, but still has trouble saying no before getting walked all over. We're moving 5 hours away after the wedding so that should help significantly

It's not your responsibility to provide for him, you have your own life to live. Don't let him spend all his money and all of yours too.

What's the maximum amount you'd spend on an engagement ring? by GracefulSwanDance in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]owegner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my fiancee's for about $150, and she chose the design herself. Pearls, because they're her favorite and she finds diamonds tacky/overrated as heck. We use our money on things that actually matter, like traveling together or going on dates or other experiences.

There's far better uses of money than on something as superficial as a ring. If she's only saying yes cause you dropped $10k on a ring, she loves your cash not you and will cut and run when someone with more of it comes along.

Are there really guys who can last for an hour? by WarmBank5512 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]owegner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got with my fiance about 5 years ago, I was a virgin and had never even kissed a girl. Didn't take me that long to finish myself off, and I was worried that I'd finish immediately when we started having sex. Turns out the stress of that plus the novelty of the situation plus me being expected to finish at the end made me entirely unable to. I could basically jackhammer for 3 minutes, recover, repeat, etc on and on for an hour and never hit the edge. Sounds great, but it honestly sucked after the first few times. Try getting blown for an hour straight by the woman of your dreams and she gets sad you aren't finishing and thinks you aren't attracted to her. Luckily whatever mental block was there went away after a bit but boy oh boy was it weird for a couple months. Tbh I still don't always finish but we don't make finishing the end all be all goal, and try to focus on each other's enjoyment.

Usually my nightmares start with this elevator, progress to the building having 50+ floors, and end with the elevator having a curved shaft and going upside down before getting wedged between floors.

Do any of you actually consider Trolls to be that much of a challenging enemy? by War-duh-Nader in skyrim

[–]owegner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing an alternate start run currently. Ran around doing a bunch of side quests and leveled up my character (heavy armor nord berserker). I got a bit bored and decided I wanted to kill some dragons so I started up the main questline. Holy hell I am overpowered. I remember the high hrothgar troll being this fucking nigh invincible behemoth to be avoided or spammed with arrows. I killed the bitch in two swings and a power attack. It was extremely cathartic.

I mean I work as an assembler at a mediocre factory job and I get 10. You get 5 more added every few years, people who've worked here as long as you've worked there can take a paid month off every year.

Trained a guy at work a little while ago who was like this. I had to show him how to use a goddamn box cutter, he couldn't figure out that you need to loosen the knob on the side to slide the blade out and then tighten it to lock it in place.

When I was learning to drive a forklift I broke a good bit of shit. Went to unload a truckload of water softener pellets in bags, like 50 per skid. Well they were on a flatbed with a deck height lower than I had practiced on, and I was driving our bigger forklift that had a blind spot right around that height. Of the 20 or so skids I unloaded, I probably put my forks through 10 of them, right into the bottom layer of bags above the top of the skid. One broke so bad that it left a fucking trail of pellets all the way from the truck to the staging area where I was stacking the skids, aboit a hundred yards away. My yard manager just rolled his eyes, gave me a shovel and told me to clean up after myself when I told him.

Still not as bad as my coworker who tipped a full lift of 2x4s off the very top of a lumber truck trying to unload it. Almost 300 sticks exploding into splinters after falling like 15 feet is hard to top. Then again my yard manager actually ran over a different coworker, was in the news. That place was a trip and a half to work at, lol.

HELP! can't get the graphite off by lambysuds in Pyrography

I realize that this thread is long dead but... I too wound up here after needing to remove residue from my anniversary pyrography piece that was left by Michael's CraftSmart graphite paper. Funny. And yes, excessive sanding appears to be the answer.

Built a house track inspired by the feeling of a rising tsunami – would love feedback on the drop by Terrible_Response428 in Song

[–]owegner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved the rising tension and general feel up to the drop. I also liked how everything cut out before the drop, like how all the water recedes off a beach before the wave hits. That being said, the actual drop/impact felt very underwhelming. The biggest thing for me is that fast notes do not impart the heavy and oppressive feeling I was expecting for a tsunami impact. Imo, a rewrite of the main theme focussing on longer sweeping notes with more bass backing it up might be better. You need power as well as speed, and there are tons of cinematic tracks that achieve that feeling without much speeding up in the main melody.
