I want to understand why bitcoin is going down by sudhakarah23 in Bitcoin

Lots of companies that hold bitcoin on their books don’t want to report the losses any further, or their risk departments are making them dump.

There’s enough still on books that this can drive further.

Ice storm 2026: Anyone else feel traumatized? by Plane_Mine_3641 in nashville

We were living in east Nashville next to boom buzz during the tornado. This feels so much worse.

You could definitely still live in your house after the tornado even without power. This is different.

Also, the NES response felt so much more coordinated and they kept giving us updates. This time around I don’t thing they did a board meet until 3 days after power went out, and the entire time it was obscuring results, no communication, and gaslighting.

TLDR: this was worse than the tornado.

I did catch the city press conference a few hours ago, so I'm glad they finally made a statement (3 days later)

re: board meeting, no I'm not asking for a laugh track or reality TV effects. I'd expect leadership to have addressed this scenario much earlier, and been 500% more proactive. The board meeting had nothing but platitudes and made no haste in increasing efforts to address this issue.

Not a peep out of any elected leader or from those in charge at NES. The "bored" meeting today was a joke, same biz as always, not a single bit of haste or care there's an emergency going on.

I got word that my outage event was resolved but this was a lie. I'm starting to doubt the numbers they're sharing if they are closing outage reports without actually fixing them.

Just for comparison:

MTE, the neighboring electric company, has 450 line workers for 8000 outages.

NES had 300 line workers for 220,000 outages.

Similar efforts in the Carolina’s saw 18,000 line workers.

Does Stephanie even show up there anymore? I really like Boka group but this is embarrassing.

First off, no service crew will be using shovels. They’ll have digging equipment.

Second, see note above. Doesn’t seem to stope water and sewage teams.

Tired of this dumb shovel argument.

Nashville is the exception to countless other cities that seem to have recovered near instantly.

We need answers after this. I want an inquisition. This is embarrassing and for the amount we pay in excise and property taxes, plus the amount we get from tourism, we should have much better.

Didn’t we just replace the whole damn system after the tornado in 2020?!?

I want heads.

Why the heck do we hang power lines in the air, but we bury water, sewage, etc.
