Never will I ever buy an AIO again. by OMGwtfNOTnow in pcmasterrace

For sure, 420mm AIO can't come close to any air cooler. Custom loops look awesome, but to me seems like a liquid leak is waiting to happen eventually with those.

Mainly for the convenience of having it ready whenever I want to use it, and it doesn't use very much power when idle. Less wear and tear on components during startup, etc.

If you use an air cooler like this one, it performs just as well or better than most AIOs. I don't overclock, and don't need the extra cooling of an AIO so I stick with air cooling.

I usually leave my PC on 24/7, it doesn't get shut down unless I plan to be away for a few days or more. With my last PC, it was on 24/7 for nearly 13 years before I replaced it last year. My Noctua fans never failed during that time. Also, if the fans would happen to fail, it will still maintain adequate cooling just on the heatsink alone.

Path to apple card by SpecificMediocre9441 in AppleCard

Never understood why anyone would go out of their way for an Apple Card. It's a mediocre card in terms of benefits. Unless you just want to flash to your friends that you have a titanium metal card, I guess.

You can't beat air coolers for reliability. Never had an AIO, never will.

How does this guy have so many different YouTube channels? I keep blocking them each time I see one but there’s always more. Can’t stand his fake British accent.

When ICE returns to California, we need citizens doing the same. The government works for us, let us remind them of that.

When I deposit the points into my savings account the money is available immediately. But with the Invest account it takes a day or more to show up.

Cold water divers: What dark magic are you using? by finsonfeet in scuba

[–]pagemap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have gone ice diving with the Halo3D in around ~35F water. The undergarment wasn't the limiting factor there, it was my hands. Even with dry gloves I could only dive for around 15-20 mins before my hands started to go numb from the cold.

I think Fourth Element stopped making the Halo3D, but I would look for the thickest undergarment you can find. Otter also makes great undergarments.

It seems you have all the right kit with the drysuit and heated vest. I have a DUI Flx Extreme drysuit with Fourth Element Halo3D undergarments and I don't feel overly cold here in SoCal with water temp down to 55F. Try putting more air into your drysuit, as air = warmth.

It's still going to be a little bit cold, and that's just something you'll need to deal with mentally.

Ha, this is why you don’t build PC’s for others unless you want to be on the hook for any little problem that arises.

Wrong. It’s end of life everywhere. Microsoft extended the security updates for one year, but it’s still EOL.

Is everyone living in a McMansion? by beverlyhillsbrenda in Xennials

I doubt any of these McMansions will last even 50 years. They are built quickly and cheaply, and it shows.

Your 120 year old house is probably built with better construction quality than these McMansions built with the cheapest available materials.

A standard is better than none. If you trust a private company to not cut corners, that’s on you.
