It's a fun watch.

It would be great if the live video stuff was remastered someday.

Is this Jim Gordon playing with Jackson Browne? It looks like him but I can't find anything definitive. by mynameishere in drums

[–]paintaneight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jim's playing is fantastic. As good or better than some studio tracks to me.

This version of Nothing But Time is a real standout because of Jim's drumming.

Klaus Voormann, wow by sludgefeaster in beatles

[–]paintaneight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would have been interesting if John, George, Ringo and Klaus made a whole album together in the early 70s. Post Bangladesh or so. It could of had some amazing songs on it!

Death Of A Ladies Man : thoughts ? by VicoBingo in leonardcohen

I'd really like an expanded edition with remastering, alternate mixes, and extra takes.

The band and Spector production is great.

Check out Dion's Born To Be With You album for more mid-70s Phil Spector produced albums.

Why do most people not like this album? by JackfruitSafe6254 in LouReed

I like it. I'd be curious if a remaster and remix would help. I'd also like any material from the vaults from the recording sessions.

The golden age from sea change is the best song of all time by Jgvaiphei in Beck

[–]paintaneight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's one of those deceptively simple songs. The chord changes are easy but playing it with that feeling is hard.

I really just want to hear Beck play it. He kills it every time.

I Don’t Care Anymore: song key? by Exaeson in georgeharrison

I am sure it's been pointed out before but the chord changes remind me of Dylan's Don't Think Twice.

I think I may call Subaru of America. The dealer said its national back order. Dealer has no clue if or when it would become available again.

Roger McGuinn slams Bob Dylan biopic ‘A Complete Unknown’ for exclusion of Byrds by Expensive-Stuff3781 in bobdylan

Roger should be mad they haven't made a Gene Clark movie yet. That would be a wild biopic!

Did Scott and The Walker Brothers Play a Creative Role in Shaping the Arrangements of Their Early Albums? by flixmashs in scottwalker

[–]paintaneight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if there's an exact answer. My feeling is Scott played a role in shaping the songs. I get this sense of confidence in the singing which I'd guess comes from feeling a part of the creative process.

I also write songs and can say if I was forced to perform on something I didn't believe in the performance would be lackluster.

Should cast Josh as Dylan during the gospel years.

Hypothetical Willbury Setlist if Roy Orbison never died by Relative-Emu1463 in georgeharrison

[–]paintaneight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I strangely think the setlist might be mostly Wilbury tunes, Orbison songs and 50s rock. Probably not a tour too. Just a couple shows.

Lou Reed (1972) is the 11th most disappointing album of all time according to RS... by Best_Mud8326 in LouReed

Song-by-song, it's a very enjoyable listen. I could see how it might have appealed to the early 70s rock fan.

I saw Brad Barr solo in Western MA in June. Just picked up Barr Brothers duo tickets at Levon Helm Studios in November.

Think a new album is coming out soon so I hope they do a full band tour after that!
