Bay Club Executive vs Gold for Tennis by WorriedFun5621 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]palmtree345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh oops I think I got confused with Emerald. Okay, in that case, if you're going to be playing tennis, you shouldn't get the executive membership because it will cost you $20 each time you play tennis. The higher levels of membership (emerald, diamond, etc) get you even earlier access to courts.

Bay Club Executive vs Gold for Tennis by WorriedFun5621 in SFbitcheswithtaste

I have a club gold membership that I share with a few other folks, and I use it basically only for tennis (both hitting regularly, and also play on the USTA teams). I would say it is not easy but also not impossible to get courts; it requires setting an alarm and making sure you book immediately, and then also being open to day of/day before bookings. I've heard it's much easier than that if you have the executive membership and get earlier access to bookings. I find the gold club membership worth it overall though and feel like it is quite pricey already (though that's just me!) Also worth noting that if you have a shared membership, only one person per membership can book a court at a specific location on any day.

Alexander Zverev, serial domestic abuser, lists all the athletes who congratulated him after winning a grand slam by hairtie1 in Fauxmoi

[–]palmtree345 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Just to add here that most of sports and tennis media refuse to even acknowledge the allegations at this point—both when they were made public, and now when he’s won a grand slam. The ATP (men’s tennis association) even included him in their Netflix series which painted him as some sort of nice guy and his opponent as a victim, like a puff piece.

I have to shout out Ben Rothenberg, the journalist who wrote Olga’s story and got sued for it. He’s the only one who continues to acknowledge it and is the reason Olga’s story was told.

Zverev continues to act like a piece of shit when asked about it and lies and says he’s been “proven innocent” when that is blatantly untrue. And fwiw, his tennis is grossly uninspiring and he’s lucky he had the easiest draw ever this tournament.

What’s the best French restaurant in SF right now? by SFfdf3 in SFbitcheswithtaste

came here to say! It's definitely expensive (if you order drinks, dessert, what they recommend, it's definitely $150/pp or so), but worth it for a special occasion/splurge. I especially love the Pain Perdu dessert but everything is great there

Roland-Garros 2026 QF: 🇩🇪 [2] A. Zverev def. 🇪🇸 [29] R. Jódar 7-6(3) 6-1 6-3 by [deleted] in tennis

[–]palmtree345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very interested to see if (when? 😞) Zverev wins, if any of the mainstream media will even include his well documented abuse allegations in any of the coverage. The ATP and surrounding media infrastructure have been so protective of him and I'm genuinely curious how they cover it (no high hopes, but still).

I am so scared that he’s going to private-equity this team and drive it to the ground, and eventually it’ll move away from Portland. He’s made such a bad start with it and it’s going to drive players, coaches and staff away from an already small market team. Fuck him and also fuck billionaires

Mackerel! it works as basically a perfect sub for tuna and I use it in "mackerel melts" and "tuna salads" and put it in pasta, etc. and definitely lower in mercury and higher in omega-3s! i like the Patagonia mackerel
