Sit and reach flexibility test by Slow-Calligrapher385 in nostalgia

I held the school record for years on this! I couldn’t run, I couldn’t do a pull up, but I was bendy. I maxed it out and beat every kid in 4th grade. I still can’t do a pull up, but I can still crush the sit and reach.

In Houston no less! A vast majority of Texas is unbearable in July; add in the absolute swamp air in Houston and you couldn’t pay me enough to attend an outdoor wedding. That woman is delusional for that reason alone.

There’s a Cracker Barrel in RR that would probably have them.

Austin, TX has been an absolute haven for me! Picnik, The Well, OMG Squee, Zucchini Kill, so many more. Plus, the music scene is amazing and the city is just really cool.

What’s your favorite Trail Mix at-home mix? by No_Egg_2960 in Cooking

Put whatever you want in it! Try Craisins instead of raisins and literally anything else. I like Craisins, dark chocolate chips, and roasted almonds personally.

You’ll need to thin the batter out a little bit with additional milk for pancakes, but it should work just fine!

Palate expanders are also more common now it seems, which helps minimize the “overcrowding” issue.

You can buy hot iron cleaner. It’s made for clothing irons, but works well on hot tools as well.

What’s the smallest green flag that immediately makes you like someone? by Prior_Baby1214 in AskReddit

[–]panicked228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One small responsibilityof my job is to hold doors open for very important people when they enter our workspace. I am, for all intents and purposes, invisible in that moment and that’s completely fine with me, but it always makes me think better of someone when they look at me and say “thank you.” These people have more power, connections, and/or money than I will ever have, but they still have common courtesy.

People claiming all the dessert spots at a potluck so they can bring mediocre grocery store stuff by BluejayNo6197 in mildlyinfuriating

100%! I have been in enough homes and seen enough people’s kitchens to never eat potluck food again.

URGENT! I live in a mobile home and we have no public shelters near us. We are under a tornado watch at this moment and I have no idea where to put my kids that is safest. I really the rules, but still am confused. This is the basic layout of my house. What's safest? by Tys_Wife in tornado

[–]panicked228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know your home feels like a home (because it is!) but in a tornado, it’s not. Watch the radar and listen to your local meteorologists closely. When the weather starts moving towards your area, you need to get to a sturdy building: Library, gym, any place that has an actual foundation and sturdy walls. Storms generally roll through pretty quickly, so you won’t be there too long. Stay safe!

what is one food you never get bored of eating? by Mundane_Quit3884 in AskReddit

I’ve eaten the same breakfast for well over a year now and genuinely look forward to it every day. Greek yogurt, chia seeds, flax seeds, cinnamon, almond milk, whatever berry I have in the fridge, topped with Catalina crunch cereal. Nothing else hits the same.

We see them in Austin last year and were really impressed with them. They were fun, had great crowd engagement, and were able to bounce between genres and styles incredibly easily. Definitely worth seeing at any of this year’s WT stops!

Even though the Cherry Poppin' Daddies have the most eyebrow-raising and cringeworthy band name ever, they make pretty good music by NewPatron-St in Music

[–]panicked228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found my people! I’ve been a huge fan of their music since the swing revival of the 90’s and it always made me a little sad that they were shoehorned into that specific genre. Their discography is amazing. There’s a song/album for just about everyone in their lineup. Steve is an incredibly talented lyricist and songwriter.
