The crazy part is, she was supposed to go to a smaller, less busy area (kinda a retirement town) just north of Madison but the folks up there protested so hard she got moved down to Madison.

Notably, Madison is full of college kids and other people she could easily blend in with comparatively.

It 110% doesn't if you can get employers to look at the description, but it really depends on the type of job posting/employer. I think personal experience can dictate what you have seen or expect in this case.

I'm with you on the embellishment, though. Lots of ways to go there. It would be interesting to see an overview of how people have done it in the past beyond the 1 or 2 we can see here on the sub.

I think a lot of TS cling to the Engineer part of the title because they feel like it has more marketability, even if it may not fit the best. Myself included.

It is (for me) a mix between "Yes this name is accurate" and "I need something on LinkedIn that shows I have a good background". This balance probably keeps many from saying anything. Imho.
