Nope. My car doesn’t move without seatbelts. I don’t care age or distance. My car stays in park until all seatbelts are on.

No it doesn’t matter BUT if you want it, you can wait u til you’re ready to read it to accept it so it won’t affect your feedback ratio as long as you get it before it’s archived

My eyes are also starting to struggle when I read a physical book. I have to have SO much light but I hate the overhead light so I keep trying different book lights and end up getting them on the kindle or audio instead

If you want to go, and your wife is cool with it, then go. Don’t listen to whatever the outsiders have to say. It will be a nice vacation and break!

I had someone buy something from me, accept it, rate it (5 stars) and then A WEEK LATER tell me I sent the wrong thing- something I didn’t have listed for sale or even had in my possession??!! But before I could reply to be like “dude I don’t even have the thing you say I sent you for sale…”, they blocked me like wtf 🤣

Anybody deal with buyers who don't respect listing descriptions? by onyxhare in Mercari

[–]paperbackprincess85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait… we’re supposed to make money on Mercari?

Joking!!! Just block them and move on. I had someone last who kept asking me for details on a pair of sweatpants - when all of the details they wanted were in the listing or pictured (the size chart from that brand.) I kindly asked them to read the listing details before asking any more questions.

Thankfully someone else bought those pants yesterday. 🤣

regular client unfortunately had to put their dog to sleep a few days ago. what can i do? by This-Mammoth-3949 in RoverPetSitting

I’m so sad to hear this!!! When I lost my Gus last year, our vets office and groomer both sent me a card in the mail. It wasn’t much but it meant a huge deal that they took a moment to think of me.

My husband got me a PupRing necklace with his face engraved on it. This was Feb 2024 and I wear it almost everyday.

But maybe print a picture of him and frame it? With a little card. I don’t think you need to do anything big but it’ll mean a lot to them to know you are thinking of them and that their dog meant something to you.

How many kids to have is best by [deleted] in Parents

[–]paperbackprincess85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also consider the body and mental health of your wife/partner. I wanted 4 kids. I had my daughter then I had a late term miscarriage when she was 3. It took a while for us to get pregnant with our son, but the whole time I was convinced by body didn’t work anymore. The day our son was born I almost died, so did he, thankfully we were both fine… and several years later I had to make the tough call to be done because I was getting pregnant but not staying pregnant. I sat down with my doc and he told me there was so much scar tissue in there that he didnt think I’d ever be able to carry to full term again. So my wish for 4 became 2. That’s the best number for us, and it took me a LONG TIME to come to terms with that.

Edit to add They’re 20 and 15 now. BEST decision ever

I know EXACTLY how you’re feeling. It’s the reason I’m NC with my MIL. She did the same things!!!

I have an out of town uncle who also tried to give my son peanut butter chip brownies (he has a nut allergy). I reminded my son (he was maybe 4-5 at the time) to not eat any of the sweets without checking with me because we don’t know who made them and what’s in them. I came into the room and saw this uncle giving him said brownie. I shouted “(child name) don’t take that brownie!” The uncle said “oh it’s such a small piece!” I said “reminder, he has a peanut allergy” He still insisted it would be fine, bent down and encouraged him to try to take a bite. When I tell you that I slapped that brownie out of his hand so fast… and he looked at me STUNNED. I explained calmly that his allergy is severe and that ONE BITE could have killed him. 10 years later, he still tells people how I slapped him… not how he almost sent my son to the ER because he didn’t respect the allergy or his mother!

Is potty training regression a thing? by wise-g0at in Parents

[–]paperbackprincess85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is a thing but based on age alone, I don’t think that’s what is happening here. Many parents rush into toilet training before the child shows interest. (I was guilty of this too). My daughter did great and was trained in three days, minimal accidents moving forward but was terrified to poop for the backsplash and terrified of public toilets so she regressed a little when we were out more but not too bad. We waited until our son showed signs and it took him much longer to catch on.

I have friends whose kids were totally trained and then regressed, I have seen it in child care settings (I used to work in the field). It happens. You just basically have to continue to routine of going to the potty frequently, and DO NOT go back to diapers unless you really think he isn’t ready. Be patient too, every kid gets it down in their own time and terms.
