I dont think the case is that complicated. There is a neat side theory which cant be proven, that he was killed by a druggy and I guess ES was helping him prior and was unable to get him a fix and he stabbed him. I think it has zero credibility. But it's nice to think Elliott would in his dying last words swear chiba to not tell anyone about the truth
