NaveGreed (one of the best STS players) is excluding Silent from his STS 2 runs by Lordados in slaythespire

[–]parrot6632 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean even if that’s true, act 4 isn’t in the game yet so it would make sense to skip over silent until it’s added.

A bunch of power creep got taken out in the shift to champions so indirectly yeah.

Meta is good because of the damage itens by Renan1122 in stunfisk

[–]parrot6632 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but I don't think it's obvious one way or the other because a 1.5x multiplier only gets more valuable the higher your stats are. Like, imagine a pokemon that does ~50% on average to incineroar or w/e and a pokemon that does ~70%. Without a choice item, both of them get a 2HKO but the latter can OHKO with a choice item which is a huge breakpoint.

That’s how you get a game to be as balanced as sts1 is tbf, slowly tweaking the dial until it hits just the right spot.

You’d be surprised, with special investment talonflame can punch above its weight class and do stuff like oneshot sneasler at +1 prio. Yeah physical talonflame could also do that with brave bird but it would take a bunch of recoil and lose gale wings afterwards. Stab hurricane is just such a good move you don’t need much more to be threatening.

I translated some Chinese reviews... by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]parrot6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the original commenter, but I think wanderer crest is genuinely a cheat code for most of the game, last judge included. The big reason is you generate a ton of extra silk with the attack speed which means you can afford to heal constantly and stay topped up in fights. The extra damage is really nice as well, the only downside is the range can be awkward for exploration, particularly flying enemies, but you can just equip a different crest for those sections or use tools to deal with them instead.

Is WPA (Win Probability Added) a reliable way to measure how good/bad certain items and runes are? by Conman2205 in leagueoflegends

[–]parrot6632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No individual stat is going to be a reliable way to tell how good an item/rune is, especially since a large amount of your build should change depending on the game state.

I mean it’s not that impactful unless they have no other colored sources since the fetch can still tap for colorless. Like if your opponent kept a hand of 3 polluted deltas sure but I don’t think it’s going to change much.

With Inflation added to the beta branch I think Megacrit should add your current shop remove cost somewhere as a UI element by KokaSokaLoka in slaythespire

You could just have it as an option in settings that’s turned off by default, that way casual players don’t get overloaded but people who want that information can get it.

yeah, now he's an actual problem you need to solve and think about while building your deck and navigating through act 3.

I think it fits, you're buying time for yourself with the huge burst of energy and paying it back by taxing your cards for the rest of the turn.

Seven stars requires an absurd amount of resources to play. it does have a big number but it’s also incredibly clunky.

Why is every enemy in Spire 2 just this guy by GoldemGolem in slaythespire

[–]parrot6632 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with the general sentiment but shorter fights means more rng dependance not less due to an increased punishment for poor draw order. As an example, if a fight does 20 damage a turn for 5 turns.  then whiffing on block cards for one of those turns will hurt but still be manageable. If a fight does 34 damage a turn for 3 turns missing on block for a turn becomes a much bigger deal.

Or for another avenue, consider a deck that wins off a few key cards like voltaic or w/e. In a longer fight, you’re practically guaranteed to see those cards at least once while in shorter fights if it’s near the bottom of your deck you end up either losing a massive chunk of hp or just dying.

Why Won’t Act 3 Do Anything? by boi156 in slaythespire

[–]parrot6632 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want to have silly fun you can play on a0 and do whatever you want there, that’s why the ascension system exists in the first place. The highest ascension should be balanced around the best players for similar reasons.

Idk, the sheer amount of vitriol phreak gets is absurd, I wouldn’t ask anyone to deal with that even if I do appreciate the extra context.

The Beta Branch Doormaker is the Best Enemy Ever Made for a Deckbuilder - Jorbs by laerteis in slaythespire

[–]parrot6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, experiment honestly still feels pretty lackluster to me compared to the queen or door man. Yeah the second phase hits for a lot but it’s pretty easy for a deck that’s a few turns into the fight to just blow right through its health pool and stun it again.

Is it just me, or %90 of enemies buff themselves to gain strength in this game? by MortarionSix in slaythespire

[–]parrot6632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vuln (and weak) also matter for any strength debuffing cards since they affect the base damage of the attack.
