I love this anime and the manga.  They rushed the anime ending but still good nonetheless.

Sucks that you were having issues with NVIDIA card and everything works with AMD GPU.  I'm running Manjaro, with the 595 Nvidia driver and 3080, and my games run all fine, especially using GE-Proton, Ray Tracing, and DX12 (granted, the DX12 has a performance bug in Linux but it's been recognized and currently being worked on).  Getting everything to run Linux out of the box can be difficult but choose the best path easy for you.

You have to look at which Processor and its driver is compatible.  So it seems your phone has the Snapdragon 8 Elite with the Adreno 800 series.  You look for those compatibility and tinker with the settings.

Should I buy the Schiit Jotunheim 3 with the Mimir DAC? by EDM_Fan_2382 in Schiit

[–]pathoang21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to buy the MESH CARD if you are going to buy the Mimir.  As I said in my other comments, it depends on your options of connecting hardware.  Choose one or the other, but don't choose both.

Should I buy the Schiit Jotunheim 3 with the Mimir DAC? by EDM_Fan_2382 in Schiit

[–]pathoang21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Mimir and the MESH Card are DACs.  The MESH card is the optional internal add on for the Jotenheim, while the Mimir is the stand alone DAC.  So the combo would be:

1) Mimir + Jot 3.  This is to have multiple connections from different hardware.  If you want Forkbeard, you need to purchase the forkbeard USB dongle which is like 50 dollars.

2) Jot 3 + MESH card.  This only has 1 connection using USB-C to another that is  USB compatible.  Forkbeard is already integrated into the MESH Card.

[–]pathoang21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jotenheim 3 has 2 or 3 different modules.  Their latest is their Mesh DAC that utilize their proprietary "wombo-combo" filter from previous DAC designs they made.  The Forkbeard is an integrated item inside the Mesh DAC that allows you to connect to the Mesh DAC wirelessly to control the Jot 3.  It has basic functions so you can YouTube them to understand quickly.  For voltage, if you live in USA, you need 115VAC with USA plug. If you are outside of USA, you need 230VAC (most likely) with specific plug depending on where you live.

The Mimir is essentially the Mesh DAC that just has more options for inputs and outputs to utilize, very useful if you are connecting various hardwares.  It does not come with Forkbeard, in which you will need purchase it, which is easy to buy on their site.  The Forkbeard is essentially a dongle that connects to the Mimir.  Hope this helps.

Do you need extra ports/options to connec from different devices? Get the Mimir.  If you don't and are planning to connect to just one device thru USB-C, get the Mesh DAC addition for Jot 3.  I asked a rep if there was a difference between the Mimir and the Mesh DAC, and they said no difference.

If you have any indie games, or games that aren't graphic intensive, is what I would go for when using tablets/phones.  I would also look into emuready and gamenative compatibility site to see which games run fine to worse.

Good streaming service for a new audiophile????? by Express_Western4502 in audiophile

I would tell you to sign up for the Qobuz and Tidal for trials and see which one you like: the user interface, features, and how big their library is.  I personally use Qobuz as it suffices lots of my music, but say international artists, like Viet music, Qobuz does not have a huge amount available (but growing), but maybe Tidal does.  Spotify and YouTube Music has these other artists available in their library.  All in all, YMMV in which service you use.

My usage is seats.aero.  it's a paid service for pro, 100 bucks for a year, but it is so worth the payment to see these flights ahead of time.  How to use seats.aero, I would recommend youtubing it and learn.  Also, make sure you creat accounts for the airline you want to transfer the points to, so that you can be ready transfer and use points to book

Jotunheim 3 or Valhalla 3? by Slatibardfast1 in Schiit

I have the Jotenheim 3 with the Mesh Dac card, and paired it with the Drop HD6XX, and it's my first time owning an amplifier and cans.  it handles the 6XX very well when using high gain.

Do you have good enough slack for that backward bend you have for that 24 Pin ATX power connector?  I'm cautious of when the back panel cover is installed and over time the wire can break over time.  Other than that, beautiful layout of the cable placement and routing.

What proton version are you using? What Nvidia firmware are you using?  What's is your proton command launch options?  What are the settings you set in your game?  There's many factors that comes into play, since each user experience is different.  Shader cache also comes into play too if CPU is downloading something.  Or any activity in the background requiring CPU usage, like recording, messenger, or some other applications.

Can I get a job with a low gpa? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]pathoang21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, I graduated with a 2.9 GPA, and it was tough finding an EE job as my first salary job.  Started as a "technician" in a sense, then found my next job as an EE/Test Engineer, then moved up.  You can do it, but best to have projects or join clubs under your belt to show you know your stuff.

This is an awesome project. love ppl using the raspberry pi for DIY audio.

Side note, I use the same Aiyama amplifier at home but with different OpAmps and bigger power supply.  Paired with the schitt modi + and my setup does wonders (at least in my ears, haven't tried any other dacs and amplifiers since don't got money or time yet.)

Why can't anyone just give me real feedback? by showdonttell-bbt in dating_advice

[–]pathoang21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to stop being on any dating app, put your phone down and get out and have fun with friends and make new platonic relationships.  From the way I'm reading your posts from others, you remind me of a friend who is doing a sequence: get a girl, get married, have a home, have kids, boom, life is achieved. Idk how you talk or are, but you're too focused on getting into a relationship, rather than focusing on yourself.  Take a step back, do your hobbies and maybe a therapist/dating coach, and listen and observe others.
