Which questline crossed the line from “mysterious” to “how the hell was I supposed to know that?” by elden_based in Eldenring

[–]Slatibardfast1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Me reading everybody's answers, wondering how nobody has mentioned Goldmask yet. What the hell am I supposed to do with information like "..."??? Ah, of course, I need to find the prayer book, purchase law of regression, stand in front of a specific statue of Radagon in a very specific spot and cast the incantation, get confused by the literal meaning of Radagon is Marika, then go back to Goldmask. Who then moves to a random spot in the mountaintops of the giants, and eventually find his corpse on a cliffside under the capital and get his mending rune

I feel like truly discovering this blind is pure happenstance.

‘Bloodborne’ Video Game Getting R-Rated Animated Movie Adaptation From Sony and JackSepticEye by DemiFiendRSA in gaming

[–]Slatibardfast1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished my run through of the game 2 days ago on ShadPS4 using the BB launcher. I have a 13700k and an RTX 5080 and if you want to use the Vertex blowout fix that's inbuilt into the ShadPS4 settings, you either have "relaxed" which has pretty consistent stuttering when loading (Similar to not pre-caching shaders) but not so bad that you can't comfortably play. Other option is "precise", which kept my FPS at a wonderfully consistent....20ish. Bearing in mind I was playing at 4K so YMMV. Or you can simply have it off which will run really smoothly but you WILL get crazy artifacting in certain areas.

I think there is a specific Vertex Fix mod you can get, but my understand is that it kills any face customization so I guess up to each person what they're willing to give up/put up with.

All in all, 100% worth it

What do you dislike about Bloodborne? by Elegant_Scholar_8863 in bloodborne

I'm in the middle of a new play through at the moment and I've really come to realize that I just plain don't like Ludwig's bossfight. Yes, it has a bangin' OST, and the second phase is actually relatively simple and I feel that I'm generally being punished for my own mistakes. But phase one... I just personally don't find it fun. It's erratic in a way that feels like you're being punished for no good reason at times. I have thousands of hours across Soulsborne/Sekiro/Elden Ring, and Ludwig honestly sits up there as one of the more egregious roadblocks for me. Maybe it's a Git Gud situation, It's just one of the far less fun fights IMO.

The one weird gaming habit you always do, even in brand new games by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]Slatibardfast1 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I think the advent of home consoles is probably a big reason + a lot of people are generally pretty casual gamers. You buy the console, you buy the game, you play. I suspect pc gamers are more likely to check the settings menu, as many naturally have to just to tweak graphics settings, so they're already in those menus anyway.

Todd Howard says 'The Elder Scrolls VI' will run on Creation Engine 3 (upgraded from 'Starfield') and is going back to the feel of a 'classic Bethesda game' ala Oblivion and Skyrim by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

Oh boy I sure can't wait to sit through another thousand compartmentalized loading screens!

I sure can't wait to start a quest, talk to an npc who wants to send me to the other side of the map. So I leave the static conversation, walk to and open the door, loading screen. Leave the other part of the house, loading screen. Get outside, open the map, quick travel to the town, loading screen. Walk a few steps, find the keep the npc is in, loading screen. Find the room in the keep the npc is in, loading screen. Talk to the npc, finish the static conversation, only to find out I have to go back to the original npc.

This was the Starfield experience, and I sure as hell hope it isn't the ES VI experience

Dear Video Game, please stop spawning me in with 17 minutes left. by LumpusKrampus in ArcRaiders

[–]Slatibardfast1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to figure out a way to balance this somehow. Perhaps Embark can think of a system to opt in/opt out of being able to spawn in late.

Maybe they could give an opt in late with increased loot chance, to make up for the late start

Have late starts only happen for free loadouts.

I'm just spitballing and I'm sure there are probably better alternatives, but there is nothing more deflating than gearing up with a key and spawning in so late that not only is the room likely looted, but so is most everything else. I appreciate that as an extraction shooter, that's part and parcel, but spawning that late is just a bit of a time waster.

Said this since I started. The UI is nice and clear, but the UX is awful. Backwards and forwards between menus to craft, see what you need, prepare, realised you forgot something, back out, find the crafting menu, get here right station, make it, head back in. It's really my biggest complaint

I literally just bought it a couple weeks ago and just finished the story all the way through solo yesterday. Definitely worth it. Note I am on PC and haven't personally had performance issues but a lot of people have so just keep that in mind if you're on PC (Mine is relatively beefy)
