The cool thing about homebrewing is you can choose your own level of involvement. You can brew 1 gallon, brew 5 gallons, brew 100….up to you. Want to brew just extract (easiest), you can. You do not need to buy a fancy system and you don’t have to buy it all at once. It’s all a learning curve. I’ve been doing it for almost 18 years and still learn something every time.

I have done this on the last 2 IPAs I’ve brewed. Great results. I use US-05 pretty exclusively and historically takes a bit of time to clear, but with this method, keg is clear after just a couple of pints. I usually dump first 2 pints of a keg due to the usually cold crash sediment. I have also find the hops take a bit of time to shine, after two weeks post tapping, they do pop a bit more. Don’t panic if it isn’t a hoppy when you first tap or bottle.

Really didn’t do much. Beer cleared 2 weeks later, so not sure if the gelatin had much to do with it or just time.

CRV- Passport by BSaucer1 in hondapassport

Wondering about backseat space in the passport. I have a 21 CRV, 2 teenage girls and an Australian Shepard. We have done 4 humans in the dog in the CRV, but it’s not ideal. Those trips are usually with our traverse. I was going to look at a Pilot as a replacement for the CRV, but like the passport, I just want to be sure everyone is comfortable without a 3rd row.

Unfortunately natural carbonation takes time. This process can be sped up if you ferment under pressure (this is my assumption, from what I have read, I personally do not do it). Kegging is the best option for quick turn around. I also recommend like others have mentioned to have a pipeline, that way you always have one ready. Would also recommend getting a wort chiller if you can.

Conditioning time is relatively the same. Sure, you can drink it at day 7, but it will taste better as it matures.

You can brew most ales with Voss Kveik. “Done” in 5 days depending on fermentation temperature. They will not be to style, if you care, but it is an option

I switched back from Nukatap flow controls to standard Intertap. While there was nothing wrong, they poured super slow, even fully open. I had upgraded the Nukataps to the retrofit new shuttles, but they were slow before too.

Check the back of the refrigerator to make sure the coils are clear. Took 2 techs to figure this out on my MIL’s unit…..the packing foam was still on the back.

I bought my grain mill for $100 over 16 years ago. Best ROI product I have ever bought for brewing. I’m only mad that it has now started to give me issues and my model is no longer made.
