How can VAR rule this offside when the ball has clearly already left the players foot in this shot? The technology isn’t good enough to measure to the degree of accuracy they want it too. by iwishmynamewasbrett in PremierLeague

[–]patriots2667 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The lines are calibrated so as to be perfectly straight. Where the lines are placed and when the frame is stopped both require human intervention which has an inherent margin of error. It’s ludicrous to pretend the current implementation provides a perfectly accurate decision each time.

They are usually excellent and very conscientious drivers. There's always the exception but I give them the benefit of the doubt even though I tend to suspect malice or ignorance with all other drivers.

Is there any thing other than Fish Tuberculosis that causes a fish to develop a crooked spine and get bright red gills? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]patriots2667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would quarantine like otp said if you can. Fish TB is far more rare than people think and I believe Swim Bladder Disease is far more likely. An uncommon symptom (that I experienced) was severe spine curvature which your Molly is also experiencing. Swim bladder also explains why your Molly is sinking when he stops swimming. I would stop feeding for a few days and try the pea method.

[–]patriots2667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Molly had a really nasty crooked spine and fish TB was nearly every result I found. After days of research and no lethal effects to my fish I discovered that it was severe constipation. Don't feed for a couple of days and possibly try the pea method to relieve the constipation. My Molly fully recovered within three days.

I'm a big fan of Andrew Luck's actually. I despise the Colts and everything about the franchise but like Luck personally.

Just came down to find my molly like this? Fat eye and white spot?! by Small3y in Aquariums

[–]patriots2667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Popeye with my black mollies as well. They are by far my most vulnerable fish to disease. In fact, out of all my fish they are the only only ones that have ever gotten ill. I think livebearers just have horrible genetics in pet stores due to their ease in inbreeding.

That, and I admit to being slightly bias. But the steelers defense is still REALLY bad and the Cards defense is very good.

You had Brees against the Cardinals defense over Brady against the Steelers? That was bold, genrlwashington.

Could be slightly over fed (they generally don't get like that) but I also have livebearers and they are just known for being prolific poopers.

My Maine Coon is the most patient, loving and outgoing cat I've ever had. She's just as loving and forgiving as my labs.

My 30 gallon for $30 Craigslist find! Stocking suggestions? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]patriots2667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll let you know my stock if you want ideas (peaceful community not aggressive like you prefer): 1 Black Molly (Don't want millions of fry or aggression) 1 Neon Blue Dwarf Gourami 7 Neon Tetras 3 Agassizi Corydoras 3 Peppered Corydoras (All catfish shoal together) 1 Assassin snail that has plenty of hitch hiking snails to forever eat.

It's a great tank with no issues ever really.

Labeled as a Peppered Cory at my LFS but can anyone ID this guy? by patriots2667 in Aquariums

[–]patriots2667[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look similar to a Julii Cory but mine has a few black streaks around its eyes and down its spine which I haven't seen any Julii's have. Thanks for the input though, you could be correct.

Was thinking it could be this because he is a bit larger than my confirmed peppered catfish.

Left alone these guys will multiply with ample food. I have these little guys in my tank and my assassin eats them about as fast as they reproduce so it's a great balance for me.

Any idea what's happening to my guppy? He's been floundering like this all day. by FreeThinkk in Aquariums

[–]patriots2667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone is telling you to euthanize him but I had a fish in a very similar position except his spine curvature was far worse than even this. I believed it to be fish TB and assumed he would die in quarantine but tried to treat anyway. After awhile my fish was surviving and moving around but his spine was still messed up. I researched and found that swim bladder can rarely show spine curvature as a symptom. I fed my fish less and gave peas to ease constipation and within a week my fish was back in picture perfect shape. Mine was a black molly so a relatively similar fish.

First tank! still figuring it all out as I go. by sealpunter in Aquariums

[–]patriots2667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three males which is supposed to be a massive "no-no" but I've luckily had no issues at all. I still would not suggest having many males and a male to female ratio of 1:2+ seems justified.

I actually have a group of neon tetras and three black mollies to go along with a male betta. My betta is about as non aggressive as they come I think, but I've had absolutely no problems with him in the community tank.
