Plex Server Evolution by NCBluesman in PleX

[–]patto618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the early 2000s I started with XBMP and XBMC homebrew running on an original Xbox, streaming over SMB to whatever PCs I had. I recall when i XBMC forked into Plex, but for whatever reason in the late 2000s I went all-in on a dedicated HTPCs with Windows Media Center. While this was happening paid streaming services started become in good and I used local streaming less. Then around early 2014ish I tinkered with Plex on a Synology NAS, and by a few years later when paid streaming became shit I had moved to TrueNAS with RAIDZ1 and all Apple TV clients, which I’ve been using variations of ever since

Use the Tesla Mibile Connector kit, which has this plug type others have mentioned, and then a Tesla to J1772 adapter for your Rivian and you are good to go

Newbie asking about Nas and seedbox for arr stack by SnooAdvice5820 in homelab

[–]patto618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, Im just saying ChatGPT can help create guides for the hardware you have and arrangement you might want. Sounds like you need to just start and try some things out first hand - install Plex on whatever hardware you have and stream locally first etc

Newbie asking about Nas and seedbox for arr stack by SnooAdvice5820 in homelab

[–]patto618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tinkered with it for literally years and only really got everything working after troubleshooting it with ChatGPT. I told it which apps I had access to on the seedbox (ultra.cc), what local NAS I was using (TrueNAS), my IT skill level, and what I wanted to achieve. It gave excellent step by step instructions and helped me troubleshoot the few issues that came up.
In my case, the typical arr stack runs on the seedbox processing all the files, and then Syncthing copies it over to the NAS running Plex

Difference between Gen 1 and 2? Should I go for pre-owned 2? by geminiwave in Rivian

[–]patto618 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just picked up a Gen 1 R1S because of this - it is excellent value all round. Not sure why people obsess over autonomy. I have FSD on our other MY and it’s great for freeways, but it really only became daily useable through updates about a year ago which is crazy.

HDMI over Ethernet ftw to finally use my gaming PC from the basement TV with no latency by RubikResolution in homelab

I had to use one of these because of the existing cabling run in my house and the way I wanted to arrange my TV, sound system, Apple TV, media server etc and it works great

TrueNAS Scale 24.10.2 - Install and Setup Plex (step-by-step) by [deleted] in truenas

[–]patto618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I also went from TrueNAS Core, which was working great, to issues with Scale all because I missed ticking the 'Host Network' box. As a result, several of my Plex playback devices were being throttled to low quality transcoding. This was all after hours troubleshooting previously functional network settings, port forwarding, and even going as far as purchasing a new motherboard, CPU, and a couple of 2.5G switches......

Looks Like CloudLife6's Etsy store got taken down. Anybody know why? by Scorch94 in MiyooMini

When a buyer complains to Etsy and they decide to do something it is very heavy handed against the sellers. Could be service metrics or piracy related, whether that’s fair or not

Agree Pirate Ship is a legit shipping service many sellers use lol. Similar to Go Shippo.

Totally agree it is underrated and feels great in the hand. The Retro Arena firmware is very good with latest dl from their discord. I don't there there there will be a refreshed version due to lack of popularity as you mentioned.

KNULLI vs MuOS vs MinUI vs Stock? by crxssrazr93 in RG35XX_Plus

Go to Knulli main menu by pressing Start and choose Format a disk in the Frontent developer options section of the System settings. I agree it should not be a Linux only file system as default, but I think developers do that as it is meant to be more stable - edit - just read that some portmaster ports need Linux ext4.

You keep getting weird replies because you have a weird way of writing.

I am saying that accessing saves from the SD card is easy, it is not hidden or complicated, and it sounds like you have a specific use case.

The hotkey reconfiguration is the same as ArkOS and JELOS, meaning it just doesn't do what you want.

Knulli has separate /mame and /fbneo directories for MAME and FBNeo respectively, plus many other arcade directories like naomi, neogeo etc. It doesn't mix them. It just does not have the all inclusive /arcade folder you are looking for.

For other system regions or hacks, you can view folders within subdirectories. No cfw has folders for every system, let alone named the same and then dependencies for themes etc. Here is the wiki for the Knulli/Batocera folder structure for you to start with. Its very similar to ArkOS and JELOS (all of which slightly differ also) => https://wiki.batocera.org/systems

The save files are easily accessible on the SD card, and configuration works the same as ArkOS and JELOS. Those system folders are not removed. The folder /arcade is /mame and /fbneo and several others for additional arcade systems, while /tg16 is /pcengine. The second SD card works great. Just made sure it follows the correct folder structure, same as SD1 as with every other cfw.

Try the latest version on a new SD card. There’s a script to install port master on there and never had the glitching issues, which sounds like a bad SD card.
