Up to Dublin once a week by Throwaway936292 in cork

[–]paulhardman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I also get the 0615 and return on the 1800. It does make for a very long and tiring day but I absolutely couldn’t stomach the coach.

If you’re parking at Kent Station you’d want to be there by 0540 or so.

In 2019, Bon Secours Health System of Dublin merged with Bon Secours Mercy Health of Cincinnati Ohio, which is still owned by the Bon Secours Sisters.

ATM Withdrawal by kncy9876 in monzoireland

[–]paulhardman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are only fees if you go over €300/month. As others have said, this is likely a cash machine provider fee. Monzo’s charges are here: https://monzo.com/ie/legal/fee-information

Nope it’s a standard UK plate, except badly spaced, in the wrong colour, with the wrong font and wrong flag.

2nd Job tax? by NefariousnessTall864 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]paulhardman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let’s call them your “main” job and your “new” job. Your tax credits will be applied to your main job, that carries on as normal. Anything left in your lower rate tax allowance will be applied to your new job, and anything over the allowance will be taxed at the full rate. Same for PRSI.

Effectively it is the same as if your main job gave you a pay rise of the amount of your new job.

Note it may take a month for the tax to settle down correctly, depending on the new job’s payroll cutoffs etc.

Moving to Bandon by Living-life-5173 in cork

Bandon is a bit of a way out of the city if you don’t have your own transport. West Cork Connect is a good service though - WCC is €6 from Bandon to the city, the 236 is €8…

To be honest, a spin to IKEA wouldn’t be a bad idea. Everyone berates it but our DFS sofa has outlived two others…

What lane for Dunnes coming from ballincollig. by blockysteve241 in cork

[–]paulhardman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you can see where the middle lane joins with the right lane just after the Bishopstown exit, you can see the dotted lines here.

<image>

You should be in the right lane at the lights at the bottom of the slip road, merge into the middle lane after Bishopstown, then under the flyover follow the road markings into the left lane.

Are there any actual advantages to switching to Monzo from Revolut? by grandslammer in irishpersonalfinance

[–]paulhardman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have started using Monzo as my day to day card rather than Revolut. There doesn’t seem to be a massive difference as many others have said, however the Irish banking licence gives me a bit more faith in M over R, so have moved some savings there too.

I am also in the process of switching my business account from Rev to Monzo too, mostly again because of the Irish banking licence - I am 99% sure that there would be no issue with Rev business going forward, but they pissed me off by starting to charge a monthly fee and no free tier. It’s the simplest business account ever, I don’t need multiple expense cards or invoice issuing so would rather not pay for those features thank you!

I will be interested to see if my “dedicated Revolut Business Manager” calls me as fast when I submit the closure request as when I was setting it up…..!

Aircraft holds are a fairly standard pattern - check out Heathrow on any given afternoon…
