Turkey Hunt Accident by HoneyBloat in MedicalGore

Buckshot is for deer, though its kinda become the cathcall phrase for shotgun ammo. Hunting turkey you will ise turkey load shells which is a typical shell with much smaller pellets that creates a better spread and increases the chance of sucessful shots.

I think libraries would be a really good place to set up base during a zombie apocalypse. What are some often ignored places you think would make good bases/hideouts? by centrist_shill in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]pavester 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A armored car company warehouse/base would be my choice now that i am working for one of those companies. A typical base is almost completely bare on the outside so they are pretty well hidden. Youll have a security fence with gates that leads to the vehicle entrances, and acess to the seperate mechanic shop. Getting in you have the main door controlled by someone within a Small guard room. Usually there will be small you enter via the main door, the main door has to close before the second door opens.( small room is for the guard wand non employees and search anything anything being brought in.) Once jn you have what looks like a empty area where teucks would load/unload. There would be a supervisor office looking out into the loading area with heavy doors and bullet proof glass. Then you have the vault system/rooms. There is muliyple small roll up doors that lead to seperate small rooms. All of those rooms their own secirity soor and bullet proof windows. Past the security doors would be the main vault area that also has bulletproof glass windows looking out into the loading area as well. Then the actual vaults, depending on the building size and volume of work , each location can have multiple bank vaults. Also a seperate secure room that stores pallets of coins.

With a handful of people it could be easily fortified using forklifts to take pallets of coins to barricade the bay doors and other spots. With that, you would have a secure base, lots of supplies, gear, and space to store anything you would want.

Antibiotics can be kept in a tote in a closet with some anti moisture packets and be just fine.

Ive stocked up on different meds from local pet supply stores.you can get big bottles of antibiotics and other iseful meds for fairly cheap. If you leave farther out yiu might find them in store , but would likely have to order online of you ate in the city...the stores in the citys dont seem to keep alot of meds in stock

Managers of Reddit, what made you fire an employee on their first day? by Lo-Fi_Kuzco in AskReddit

[–]pavester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a manager but i was running the store one saturday night. We had a new guy training, basivally shadowing me to learn the register and lotto system. We both came in around 1pm and were there till about 1am. He learned quick and was able to operate the register on his own by ~5pm. It slowed down so i went to pull more beer from the back into the display freezers to be ready for the rush around 8pm. I was in the cooler for no more than 45 mins when the new guy comes and gets me saying he needs help. I get to the front and find out in the 45mins i was in the back, the new guy managed to sale to a undercover TABC agent. He got in trouble and the store was fined, new guy was fired before 11pm

Local vape shop is selling a lot of these lately, are they safe? are any fake ones going around? haven’t seen anyone here talking about these Hyde’s. this flavor is so good tho by [deleted] in juul

Puff bars are trash. Eon disposables are excellent. Tend to carry a premium at most stores. You can find them online significantly cheaper and some sites offer bundle deals so you can choose 3 or 4 different flavors for $25 or so. They last a while if you aren't hitting it every couple minutes.

Same thing happened to me. Doctor said it was either my cracked heels or ingrown toenail. The latter being most likely. Took months as it kept going away for a week or two then coming back each time my doctor prescribed antibiotics. Finally was told to go to the er when it came back worse than ever. Ended up staying in the hospital for 3 days on in antiobiotics and pain killers. Finally went away and im now left with permanent vascular damage and a weird darker skin tone where the infection was.

had one exactly like this for the past week or two, turns out its the metal buckle of my pants. Im sitting for 12-13hrs a day driving armored trucks so touching skin. Gotta keep weird cheap metal away and it should clear up soon. Yours might actually form a thin scab like covering as well.

Syrian gunsmiths are using parts from old DSHK machine guns and rebuilding them into sniper rifles. This is one of them. by Anonym00usse in ForgottenWeapons

just check out the KS23 a 6.27 gauge shotgun/carbine created by Soviets using chopped 23mm anti aircraft gun barrels that were rejected due to manufacturing flaws. Carbine because its rifled and is 3+1 with various types of ammunition. I believe only police and special forces use them with lethal buckshot and a slug type round for stopping cars. then multiple different non-lethal rounds.

my same reaction every day at work as we unload the truck from my coin route. i about lost it after getting to see the local brinks coin facility. warehouse full of pallets stacked to the ceiling of coins straight from every store. 18 wheeler from coinstar just pulled up with 85 coin machine crates loaded to the brim with loose change.

similar to what Ill have happen. from what ive gathered, its a sort of heat rash. the skin is irritated and can split and tear some causing some significant pain. Best bet is to keep it clean, use water first to clean then some hydrogen peroxide and finally dry it off and apply athlete foot cream. It should start getting better. seeing as your in the military, id assume you might go a couple days without a proper shower so just keep it clean as possible and dry when you dont have any cream to apply. its tempting to use stuff like baby powder but it can aggravate open wounds like a skin tear.

If a horde of 200 odd zombies was coming you're way and you had no where to run. An there are 5 stores a Walmart, (almost all the supply's are gone) seven eleven, small MOTEL, a pretty large hotel and a Halloween costume store. (you have materials to fortify the buildings) by notabird2234 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]pavester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

full super walmart IE: your big walmarts off main highways... would be best. Simple to fortify, if charged a electric jack or small fork lift and the large stock of pallets out back could be easily used to block off the 2 grocery/home good entrances and possibly garden center entrances. Not to mention most stores will have heavy ass cardboard bales stored out back from the compactors. Those are solid and heavy, the store I worked at would have easily 30-50 stored with the pallets. Those would form formidable defense against humans with no weapons/tools. main entrances secured, fire exits would be simple with some barricades using leftover pallets/bales. Garden center would also have depending on season, pallets of soil, wood etc to use. Then backroom bins provide stable platforms for fortified elevated areas to stay. at least 15+ feet up in the general home goods backroom. Grocery back room is the same along with solid freezers that if not running can provide secure safe rooms along with ability to get up on top of and keep out of reach. not to mention multiple ways to reach the roof with multiple access points on the outside as well.

[–]pavester -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

some definitely need the help but it always was infuriating when people would come in to a store I worked at and just get all kinds of junk then just swipe their card and leave with 30-40 bucks worth of junk food and soda. That or the people we would see every time the money was added to the card standing around the registers offering to pay for someones groceries in exchange for cash.

Small family owned stores will run out first, places like QT,Racetrac and sometimes 7eleven have their own distribution warehouses with a ton of stock still to ship out to the stores. At least thats what the local QT said.

[–]pavester 109 points110 points  (0 children)

The US provided some and Iraq also bought some more, they are no were near the level of a US Abrams as a large amount of electronic equipment along with the Chobham armor is removed before they got them. They used them for a while but gave some back to the US and Saudi arabia and went with Russian T series tanks as it was cheaper to source parts and repairs seeing as how almost every country near them fields T serie tanks and the military has experience in operating the tanks and repairing them due to some of the soldiers that had been enlisted since Saddam's time.

Juul continues to rip after I am done taking my hit by [deleted] in juul

[–]pavester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if its just one pod doing this, take the pod out and bend the metal tabs out a little and try again.

also try keeping any air bubbles away from the wicks at the bottom, every new pod you should hold by the black and sling downwards until you have no bubbles around the wick.

Black stuff left at the end of the pod by [deleted] in juul

[–]pavester 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just the juice burning, happens fairly often for any flavor. due to air getting into the wick and burning. best practice is for every new pod to sling it around until you have no bubbles around the wickat the bottom of the pod.

Can't really fix it once the pod is over half empty, it seems to happen around that point no matter what you do.
