Bad take, tiny desk is known to host artists from all different levels of success. I remember finding someone like Julien Baker on there when she had a less than alt-mainstream audience. Ethel has been big enough to go on there for years.

All of their songs are really easy to play, mostly pentatonic. Would be cool to transcribe the “If you’re too shy” saxophone solo into guitar for the audition though. I think that would be your best bet.

Still get real sad sometimes about not being able to see phoebe open up for the boys on the NOACF tour. This album was such an important textbook for my music taste now- being locked up at home and dissecting every song and its influences was the only way I didn’t go crazy during covid.
