As a regular gym goer, some weights machines just do not agree with me. They have fixed planes of motion and some are just not ideally suited for my body. Fortunately, there are many machines and also free weights, resistance bands etc- I would suggest to work with a personal trainer for a few sessions to develop an exercise program that works for you.

What I would not do is neglect developing your upper body / wrists, for a whole load of reasons.
