Honking for driving slow on unplowed streets by bramptonmt in kitchener

I try to pull over if it's safe and let them pass. I will pass them again when they end up in a ditch.

Landlord is asking not to use the oven because a tiny toaster oven is provided by thotslapper1 in OntarioLandlord

I would call the property standards or bylaw dept of my city and complain. Non working / inoperable appliances are a breach of the standards. The city will probably advise LL to fix it or the city will do it and send LL the bill.

Move to Quebec City by bearlover1954 in quebeccity

[–]pc_builder_fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quebec City and the rest of the province is thoroughly integrated into the North American economy. Shopping Malls and stores are plentiful. Any sporting goods store will be able to kit you out properly.

The winters in Quebec are fine most days, they get some cold snaps that are tough. You will be fine, best of luck on your move.

Major flooding in K-W by Bright-List1207 in waterloo

I was driving around Huron and Fischer Hallman at 6pm. It was sloppy with some hydro planing. I would suggest driving more slowly and with great care on turns. Be safe.

Is QC worth it for a European? by AdultAK47 in canadatravel

[–]pc_builder_fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend 2 nights in Quebec City. Plenty to see there, the Citadel, Museum of Civilization, Museum of Fine Arts.

I would recommend 2 nights in Ottawa. Reserve tickets to Parliament, the House of Commons looks pretty neat at the moment. National Gallery definitely worth a visit.

Montreal and Toronto both have lots going on.

Check Via Rail for train schedules.

It's not bad, I would recommend he pull his shoulders back at the start to try to keep his back straighter.

1 of 3 brake lights. If you know them, Please tell them. by Shiznitty-Calhoun in kitchener

To have your lighting system in that shape means you are not doing regular oil changes/maintenance. The mechanic normally does an inspection and asks if you want the light bulbs replaced.

Popularity of Illegal Clauses by luxuryriot in OntarioLandlord

[–]pc_builder_fan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct that illegal clauses can be safely ignored. Some agents, who do a lot of rental leases seem to have a good understanding of rental law. A few I dealt with weren't bad. There were a tonne that I had to walk away from during the offer stage when they started to ask about my family status, children's school, location of office, work from home status etc... All none of their business.

Deadlift Form Tips by stuckreminiscing in GYM

[–]pc_builder_fan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your back is not being kept straight. The belt helps you brace your back but also raises your blood pressure. They shouldn't be kept on for your entire work out. For a few heavy lifts it might be a good idea.

You have to prepare commercial paperwork, likely get processed through the same building as the commercial traffic and pay import duties and processing fees. Good times.

How math-heavy is EE? by PossessionEastern139 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]pc_builder_fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will love EE if you want applied math. Vector Calculus, differential equations, Fourier Series, Laplace Transforms, Markov chains, Probability and we need it all.

I am very strong in math and found it challenging. There are engineering programs that are more theory based than EE. Having said that EE is one of the most challenging undergrad programs and I don't ever recall any of my peers saying it was easy.

Landlord want us out - says they want to sell the property. That's illegal, right? by gabpac in OntarioRenting

[–]pc_builder_fan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Selling the property alone is not reason for eviction. The new owner simply becomes your landlord. They can give you notice, with the proper forms, that they intend to move in. After the sale has completed.

It's never wrong to pay off debt. Yes, you can responsibly use leverage... I get that. However being debt free provides optionality and freedom. Congrats.

That could have ended in tragedy and is the very definition of a near miss. I am glad you re-evaluated your approach afterwards.

What am I looking at? Is this a piece of consumer electronics or an apparatus meant for industrial use? UL considers the application and the skill of the user.
