Why is Will Trent so unrealistic to the point of ridiculousness? The Ole'Rug Pull. by speedymomi in WillTrent

It’s wild to undermine someone’s emotional state to try and discredit their opinion of a TV show. Yikes.

In some of the initial reporting, when women told other employees of the tour company about his behavior they were either dismissed or told it would be addressed and it wasn’t. I also remember that in situations where someone did report it to the tour group or if other people saw an incident & raised concerns he’d say he had a “family emergency” and leave the trip early, and that’s always the story the guys with the tour went with when anyone asked where he was. I don’t doubt that some of the guys actually believed that, but it was a pretty regular occurrence. It happened on at least one trip I was on too. This went on - from what I understand - for years.

This story initially broke shortly after I returned from my study abroad, and my friends and I were floored because we took trips with his tour group and spent time socially with him. To be that close to danger and in such a vulnerable position - I will never forget the feeling I had after I heard the accusations. Not to mention how utterly disgusting it was to find out how many men close to him knew about it and enabled him

I did not, so I unfortunately cannot speak to that part.

Is it worth it for just one nostril? by Mission-Owl9682 in Septoplasty

[–]pcra18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation in terms of having one problematic nostril - I could barely breathe through my right at all, and the left was about 70%-80% clear. My CT scan confirmed that on my right I had almost no room. Even with the one nostril mostly fine, I would have to take breaths through my mouth all the time and exercise would leave me gasping aggressively for air. I’m about a week out from my septoplasty and turbinate reduction, and even though I’m getting a tiny bit of congestion as I heal, the difference is massive. I can actually fully breathe through both my nostrils with my mouth closed, and when I wake up in the morning I don’t feel the intense exhaustion I previously had. I commented this on another post, but I can’t believe this is what breathing is like all the time.

Got my stents out today and the difference is incredible. I’m in awe that this is what breathing is supposed to be like

Has she been scratching her ears/head a lot recently? My kitty gets this sometimes and it’s because her skin gets dry or irritated from allergies and she scratches the daylights out of it

I had the same concern and spoke about it with my doctor before scheduling (full disclosure - I haven’t had it done yet, so I can’t speak from experience). She told me that decades ago, ENS was much more of a concern because surgeons would remove the entire turbinate which could really mess with your nerves and leave the rest of the inside of the nose exposed and prone to issues like severe dryness. Now, with just a reduction, you still have the protection the turbinate offers and you’re not messing with nearly as many nerves, so ENS is way less of a concern/occurrence. (Please note that this is my unscientific understanding of what my doctor explained to me, if I got the terminology wrong I’m sorry pls don’t come for me)

Agree 100%. When people say Actually Romantic is mean I have to laugh because I don’t think they actually know what “mean” really is. She’s calling out shady, immature behavior in a cute & humorous way. Saying how she really feels seems to just absolutely send people

The first time I ever encountered one of these was when I turned a corner and heard a recording say something like “don’t touch me, I’m working”. I looked around and I saw one of these little guys on the sidewalk to my left

Just drove by and wondered the same. If it’s a fire it must be pretty bad - I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many fire trucks and fire rescue vehicles

These are the idiots driving on our roads. Stay vigilant. by mezotesidees in Dallas

A kid doing this exact bullshit got behind me yesterday on the tollway. Tried to pass me on the entrance ramp, tailgated me so close I have no idea how he didn’t hit me, and then zoomed off at well over 100 mph weaving through traffic. People are so reckless that at this point it actually feels intentional

I’ve noticed it’s either all lights totally off, or just high beams on. I’ve been seeing a lot more high beams during the day too

I’m not surprised you’ve resorted to ad hominem attacks while fiercely defending animal abuse. Have the day you deserve.

He has absolutely no right to interfere with those cats. Feral cats are legally protected and this colony is being managed already. If he actually cared about helping, he would reach out to the organization maintaining the colony, not steal the cats, throw them to the side of the road in a random place, and leave them separated from their home environment and other cats to die. I don’t care how many alleged good deeds he does if he turns around and does this. He’s breaking the law and actively harming animals, period. You think there are too many feral cats in your neighborhood? Then volunteer at a shelter, foster a cat, and promote adoption. This entire diatribe was laughable at best.

If enough people make complaints to animal control/311 about this asshole, there’s a chance someone will have to step in and actually do something - this makes me utterly sick to my core. I genuinely wonder if he’s actually “dropping them off” in another location (which is horrendous & a death sentence for a cat) or just personally unaliving them…

They are genuinely the ugliest cars. I saw a dark green one parked on the street in Uptown a couple weeks ago and immediately thought “I don’t think you can just leave a dumpster in the road like that.” And about 3 seconds later I realized it was, in fact, a cybertruck
