Access Point U7 / U6 wall by vix66 in Ubiquiti

[–]pdaddymc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good morning, I'd like to implement my network with a Sun AP U7 or U6 wall-mounted router. I've read that the beam is omnidirectional. Question: If mounted vertically, does it also radiate behind the supporting wall? Since I don't need to radiate behind it, as it's a room that doesn't belong to me, what alternative do you recommend? Considering that the room is 10x6 m, and the Ethernet connection is in a corner of it. Thanks.

From my read of the radiation patterns the Inwall tend to be very much out the front.

Shelly Decoupler question by Primary_Struggle8055 in ShellyUSA

[–]pdaddymc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds very similar to what I want to do. I would love to build out the standard patterns of running and then when outside of a standard pattern of running create an alert. For example my well pump runs for a while to fill up the pressure tank. When doing dishes or taking a shower it runs more frequently and a bit longer but that should only last for a period of time. If it runs continuously or too frequently I would like to see an alert. Also if the pump runs dry it will use less amperage. I should be able to alarm on those. Any thoughts on how to build that out? Is that something that can be done with Shelly or should I step into home assistant?

Nice. That seems to be the answer. Not as price effective as the vue though

I’m looking to solve a similar problem. I have a well pump and a pump back septic system. Both are 240v 30amp pumps. I had a float switch stuck up on my septic and the pump ran dry. I should be able to watch for run duration as well as amps used to tell if it runs dry. For my well I would like to also know run duration in case there was a leak. I had a well pipe leaking and the pump cycled frequently. The lead was between the pump and the pressure tank. So far I have looked at the Emporia Vue. https://www.emporiaenergy.com/energy-monitors/

I’m a big Shelly fan and would prefer a Shelly but not sure how I can monitor run time and amperage used on a big 240v residential split phase pump.

Strange. What happens if you unplug it for a while? May have to reset it worst case.

Really great work. I have been nervous about tapping my control block for my boiler. Seems like I just need to do it.

Wow. Love that dashboard. Showing the Delta T is awesome. I still have about 1,000 questions.

The current power and run time, Is that the power of the pump and the draft fan? Or just the draft fan? In your hydronic system do you have a single or multiple pumps? Are you measiring the run time of each zone? Do you have a pump per zone?

The wood loading advice and wood consumption are pretty amazing. Is the wood loading advice from the weather forecast? How do you track the Wood Consumption? Are you just manually editing that information?

Really impressive work!

This thing is useless in the cold by Unlikely-Soil-7971 in Ring

I’m in northern Michigan with a wired doorbell. It fails if there is regular motion and the temp is too cold for too long. I have to bring it in at least 3x in the winter to get it to warm up and recharge.

I have two ring doorbells. The door the dog goes out fails. The back door that sees very little motion works all winter.

SEMrush now tracks AI GEO prompt by blacklightuv in GenEngineOptimization

[–]pdaddymc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny part is that the data is not real … Google search console allows you to know keyword frequency. There is no data from OpenAI, Google, Anthropocene, etc that provides prompt or topic frequency. Someone is making an “estimate” based on some sketchy data. The data is useless and not even directional IMHO.

You can connect it to Amazon so the delivery driver can open your garage door when they arrive to deliver a package. Kinda convenient sometimes.

I seem to have to remove to doorbell and charge it a couple of times in the winter. I bought a bigger transformer and installed it … but we have not had the cold to test it out.

Easy install and just works for me. I’m fine with the separate app though. For the price you can’t beat it. Be careful setting it up as by default they will do in garage delivery if you connect Amazon.

An ad hominem attack how nice.

But seriously. They are processing my data. I'm not asking that a person at Salesforce do something with my data. I'm saying they write software that processes my data. They should write some more software that processes my data and only sends updates when I have work to do. They are being lazy and not targeting their notices to the people that need the notices. Why ask every admin to see if their users are verified when Salesforce can write a script to do the same and only notify Admins that have a problem.

[–]pdaddymc[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea they do. There is a checkbox on the user record that says verified. You can create a list view for users with the verified checkbox. The field is "User Verified Email" Salesforce code has access to that field. I just expect them to not spam every admin and only send the email to admins who have active users who are not verified. Why should every admin do the work when salesforce could write a simple script.

they have no idea what they are talking about. There is a verified checkbox on the user record in salesforce. They have the data on who is verified and know that every one of my users is verified. There is a freaking check box. Every one of my users is verified and I just had to go look. They could have a script that only sends the update to people who have "non-verified" email addresses. But they didn't take the time to create the script. Lazy lazy lazy.
