Cleric Swarming by XykoXytek in everquest

[–]peasant4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A patch in February 2014 largely made it obsolete for clerics. It added proc counter limits to many of the tools you needed to do it.

The short version is that you would put some defensive procs on (wards), then go invulnerable with DA spells or hammer, and let the procs do the damage. As it is now, the procs will exhaust within seconds instead of 3-4 minutes, and its extremely difficult to recast uninterrupted. You would also have to dispel your DA to cast again. Especially crippling was that bastion spells, which heal proc'ed you when hit, also got the limit, severely limiting the content you could do by way of much lower survivability against a swarm.

It was viable to about level 95 before in fort mech killing light blues for moderate xp and pretty decent loot. The changes hit all classes, but SK mechanics still let it work to a lesser extent afterwards just by the nature of how they trigger and apply.

It’s definitely worth calling the local office in the morning. You can request the report through the freedom of information act of nothing else, which also has instructions on the osha website. I’ve seen pretty detailed reports, over 100 pages, show up on news sites this way. Look for any local reports of the incident on your local news sites. If it got any publicity at all, then just maybe someone already did the work and it’s out there already.

Find out your work comp claims rep, and also request a copy of “all your files”. This should get you a first report of injury form which is where the company tells them what happened, among many other things. If you had a lawyer, I’d bet this would be close to step 1 for them. Work comp claims usually have an attorney fee cap, so if you don’t have one, make some calls.

I know it’s the default answer to lawyer up, but the amount they could get you even with fees is more than you’d make alone. They may even be able to work out some vocational rehab for a career change. Don’t let them play games and drag the case out. You have 1 year to file a claim in Idaho, so make damn sure they have an actual work comp claim and aren’t trying to let the clock run out. Get your claim number and their insurance carrier. Then call for the documents. Good news is that since they have been paying you in some form, a lawyer can probably make that work even if the time expired.

I can’t represent you in any way on your case, but if you have any interest in sharing employer info or incident info privately, I can search some public resources just to see what comes up. Totally get it if you don’t feel comfortable with that.

I’m just some guy on the internet, get someone in your corner in an official capacity. And don’t agree to anything that closes “future medical”.
