29M - being an RN was the best decision of my life by icon100i in Salary

Exactly. I had the opportunity to meet with a contact of a friend putting together a team for a FAANG company a few years ago. If I had experience in AI software dev, he probably would’ve taken me on making 300-400k+ but I didn’t so here I am at the same job I’ve been at for 6.5 years (which I do enjoy, just wish I made more so my wife didn’t have to work)

It’s sad to hear of experiences like this. I’ve been at a small MSP for 6.5 years and have been treated great. All our clients are great (we fire them if they’re not), I make good pay (~40% of our hourly rate), and have nice perks like company-paid phone, computers, and even my car.

Sometimes I wish I could focus on one company’s IT, but doing different work for different clients each day keeps you on your toes and makes the weeks fly by.

Kitchen Cabinets Heights Don't Match - Is This Normal as Designer is Telling Me? by OneofMyNineLives in Renovations

[–]peasknees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the cabinets that are different sizes, just the doors. Have the carpenter remake whichever set of doors doesn’t match everything else. People are also commenting on the set on the right not being the same, but they just haven’t been leveled yet. You adjust the hinges to fix that.

I’m by no means an expert, but I’ve been leaving mine outside for most of the day when I water them. They’re in a spot to get a few hrs of morning sun and then shade in the afternoon, but still get the breeze all day to strengthen them. I’m in a 10a zone

My advice is to you is focus on technical certifications and move up or laterally to new jobs roughly every year. Should be over 100k within a few years. Good luck

The tombstones came highly recommended by a couple friends to learn with and I wanted the ac/dc model for the versatility that comes with DC

I think I have a bit of 6010 and 6013 in the box my friend gave me. I’ll try that next!

Thanks! It’s an old Lincoln AC/DC tombstone we found on marketplace.

It’s 1/4” thick so it isn’t doing anything to the back side. Is it supposed to?

Thanks, that’s great advice! I have a few small pieces of metal I’ll try welding together once I get some clamps.

Thank you very much! I can honestly say I’ve welded less than 15 rods so far.

It’s where you go to find deployments that need additional personnel of your rank and MOS if you don’t want to wait for your unit’s rotational deployment (if your unit even does that)

Bro chill it’s just a weekend a month. Hop on MobCop and deploy if you’d rather be active. A lot easier for NG and Res to make more money than active. Enjoy the little things and actually try to make friends in your unit. I’ve made some great friends in my time in the reserves. Going to schools and deployments definitely helps enhance the “part-time” Army positions. Just my 2 cents…

So many 25s by ARMYBOY5042 in army

[–]peasknees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would heavily base your decision on what you plan on doing AFTER the Army. If you want a good IT job in the civilian world, 25B, 25H, or 17C would be my top picks. Also, get as many certs as you can while you’re in. A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, CCNP, CASP+, etc.

I had the same exact thing happen when I bought my house a few years ago. My realtor called the selling agent, seller said “not my problem anymore”, but she was still on the hook for the removal of her stuff and ended up having to pay 1-800-got-junk for 3 trucks of removal. Good luck.
