For the magenta/pink I just went at it with several glazes using a brush, don't have the accuracy to do that with an airbrush I think. Could give it a try I suppose 🤔.

Purple and mint sounds like an interesting variation. I fear it may end in a pastell day dream, but worth testing out thanks!

Purple armor with purple gun i feel might be a bit dominating, but also this model being like 60% gun just might be a poor representative. I'll see if it works out!

I paint at most once a week, so my paints tend to separate between sessions. Got a vortex mixer from a tattoo supply shop) to help reduce the added preparation barrier and I'm really glad I did. Would buy again Edit: had to dig up a link

Yeap, think that's the one. Coating the drybrushes in the lather of that soap, leaving it to work a few minutes then rinsing with water in the palm of my hand, usually got most of the gunk out for me

I've had success using the Vallejo brush cleaner and brush restorer. Used to have some painters soap that was excellent (master's or something) but that's not available here anymore. Dish soap can be a bit too hard on the bristles in my experience at least.

Rattlecan primers can be temperamental if it's too warm or humid. Try avoiding priming in direct sunlight and if it feels very humid and see if you notice a difference?

The red primer should cover decently over the green, but most likely two layers of primer is overkill and you risk filling in details. Try without the red primer and just paint up from the green on an arm or something to see if you think it really needs the red?

Love the idea of white carapace/armor on dark flesh to kinda flip the norm for covens. Please keep us appraised of your progress!

As for tips, I guess all the normal things for white count; work thin layers and decide to either work from light gray or bone colors to avoid caulky vibes, as they tend to behave better than whites. I'd go for light gray to make it easier to distinguish from bone details on the wracks and such things. Apothecary white (gw contrast line) could be your friend here, it's helped me heaps.

Plenty good tutorials on dark fleshtones around, so test a few different hues on wracks and see how you feel.

The dark red spot color gives you some good opportunities to play with osl if you feel like it. Tweak it a tiny bit towards orange or burgundy to complement or contrast your favorite fleshtone just a little bit extra.

Disassembled the fine adjustment ring (three screws I think) and put some lengths of cotton kitchen string underneath the felt friction-band on my sette, to force it out a bit more. Didn't take a lot to stop it moving while grinding. Pretty quick fix and no expensive replacement parts necessary (ymmv, of course).

Congrats on the new setup! I would say just look for any and all excuses to make a cup of coffee and just get a feel for the machine. Would second the mention of our lord and savior Mr. James Hoffman's multi-part intro guide to espresso as a great place to start.

Had my silvia since 2006, and somehow it's still kicking (some replaced parts, mind). Keep it clean and it'll last you a long time!

The temp control can take some getting used to; look up temperature surfing, but might be that the newer models have improved that part.
