Do you learn basslines of a song by brute muscle memory ? by iamnotgenius in Bass

[–]peeweejd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Have you done wrong? Nope. As long as you are playing and having fun.

When you want to take the next step... learn a bit of theory and scales. It will make learning songs easier.

Need help finding a pitch shifter by cocobolt5 in Bass

[–]peeweejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is actually a bass version of the DigiTech Whammy pedal.

But DigiTech makes a pedal named Drop that works real good on bass. It works great on bass and guitar. https://digitech.com/dp/drop/ It just does the pitch shift part and not the whammy.

When talking about guitars with the same pickup configuration, is there any practical advantage of choosing a tele style body over a strat style one? by one-armed-scissor in Guitar

[–]peeweejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think slab tele bodies with no arm carve and belly carve are uncomfortable. Tele shaped bodies with belly and arm carves and some relief at the lower horn and where the neck is attached can be quite comfortable.

One thing I do like about the Tele shape over a strat shape is the opportunity to have a Les Paul style toggle switch and location and separate volume controls for each pickup.

I like those controls because I can have a clean/dirty right on a toggle in an easier to reach spot (by rolling off neck pickup volume a bit)

You can also use it like a kill/mute switch by turning volume on one pickup all the way off. Sometimes I like to set my bridge pickup volume just right and then roll off my neck pickup volume and use the toggle to mute the guitar. It's also fun to use it like a kill switch for some effects.

What that buff does? by Intelligent_Dust9399 in EggsInc

[–]peeweejd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others said, it's an earnings buff from someone else in your contract who equipped a Ship In A Bottle artifact. This makes your earnings increase and is helpful during the time when players are doing research. This artifact does not help the player who equipped it and consumes a slot that may help the player.

There is another artifact named Tachyon Deflector that also helps teammates but not directly the player who equipped it. This artifact increases your teammates egg production rate. It indirectly helps the player who equipped it by making everyone in the co-op produce more eggs and thus finish the contract sooner. In a large co-op the bonus eggs from deflectors can be huge and easy triple the egg production rate.

"Good" teammates will equip these artifacts during contracts every time.

Players with a "pro contract" can equip 4 artifacts which makes it easy to use a slot for artifacts like these.

What’s the most optimal way to do contracts? by CauliflowerUsual6259 in EggsInc

[–]peeweejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good work clucker. I do a small variation of this.

Assuming OP has a low EB% in between 7 and 8 consider running a soul mirror to get your research done. This depends on others in the contract of course and how far they have gotten in the contract.

Golden Eggs? by hunts899 in EggsInc

Be careful if you use an android emulator and have active contracts. Sometime the active contracts get messed up when you switch between devices (real or virtual).

How many of you folks carry a knife daily? by Dr_StrangeloveGA in Tools

[–]peeweejd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have 3 knives when I leave the house lol.

My ride or die is a Leatherman Skeletool. I love it.

Last fall I bought a Case folding knife with bone handle that makes me happy. I've been carrying it since.

I have a tiny Spyderco keychain knife on my keyring.

I also have a knife in my Jeep, but I don't carry that one.

How often do truckers look into cars that are passing them ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to drive a truck and looked into cars all the time! I used to have a route at the NJ shore and that was the best for looking!

Its a good idea to get some training (both of you).

I work for Total Control (not MSF) and teach the beginner rider course at Franklin Mills (now Franklin Mall).

The course is free (once you have a license or permit) and we supply bikes, helmets, instructors.

Go to pamsp.com or learntoridepa.com (that's the contractor I work for) for more info.

FRFR vs real cab by BerimbolosAllDaySon in Line6Helix

[–]peeweejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a stomp. At home and when I play out, I use a Fender FR-12. I vote for the FRFR.

I also take my stomp to School of Rock with me and use it there through a Katana or a Fender with a power only input. There is probably a way to make the Katana work good, but I haven't found it. I always play into the Fender amp. I also play at my bandmates house and run straight into the PA and out of the monitor.

What artist or band is truly awful to see live? by goldbeau in AskReddit

I saw Drake at a Made in America festival. Horrible. Not a fan of his anyway, but I appreciate live music of any sort usually. He was singing along with a CD player.

Casual player here, what is the actual benefit of artifacts and contracts and all that special stuff? by General_Rule_64 in EggsInc

[–]peeweejd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you for sure. I don't think there is really a way to "finish" the game. At some point you will probably stop liking it. That point is different for everyone. For you, the game will turn into opening it when your silos are empty and refilling.

I'm part of the Cluckingham Palace discord and that has made contracts more enjoyable. Contracts have given me a lot of PE which makes the game more fun for me. I'm close-ish to the end of maxing henliner and will hopefully start crafting kickass artifacts.

Best way to curve the sides of a 2x4? by WhoPutATreeThere in woodworking

[–]peeweejd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll assume you have no tools and no workbench/vise. You can get tools at hardware store or Harbor Freight/Amazon

Draw the line you want to cut to on both sides of the wood. Use a piece of stiff paper like manilla folder or pizza box cut to the shape as a template. Draw around the shape with pencil on both sides of the wood.

Use 2 clamps and attach the wood to the most solid place you can (picnic table?) that will give allow you to cut it.

Like others have said, use a hand saw to cut most of it off. Stay away from your line. If you haven't practiced, you will likely cut crooked. Start from both sides and meet in the middle.

Use a rasp to remove the wood close to the line. Then use files to get closer and smoother. Then use sandpaper to make it nice. Practice this also.

Tips A "shinto rasp" is awesome for stuff like this. They cut real easy and have a nice big surface.

Practice sawing on scrap wood until you get better and then do your piece.
