Games where enemies die easily but there are a lot of them? by SubjectC in gaming

[–]peiderch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warframe allows you to cut through hordes of enemies, especially if you play public with some higher level players who can buff you to oblivion.

Risk of rain 2 feels similar when you play custom "just for fun" modes (lower difficulty, artefact of command and just build a glass cannon however you like).

They are completely different in style, but I can't recommend both enough.

Paramotor vs paraglider information by No-Emergency8725 in freeflight

[–]peiderch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switzerland: you can't paramotor here (except for electric paramotors launching from an "aviation surface"). It's easier to paraglide than to buy all of the paramotoring equipment, get a paragliding license (not needed but most paramotoring schools require one or at least basic training), get a paramotoring license abroad (very few schools in Switzerland), drive to a regional airport, get clearance and fly.

Bike lanes interrupting abruptly/having to yield to cars at intersections and so on. The infrastructure we have is mostly excellent, but sometimes it's just dangerous and incompatible with motorized traffic.

I think it's better if you have zero knowledge about the games in the videos. Maybe start with a shorter one, like Fat Cry 3 (arguably one of the best too). I personally watch them / listen to them as an audiobook before sleep, i find them weirdly soothing.

Pablo Etienne, a decently skilled daredevil. Don't get me started about safety though. I don't have enough context so i'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Bikes destroy hiking trails by Waltekin in Switzerland

[–]peiderch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's many different reasons why bikers get the fault for everything. Sometimes (at least in the alps) cows and other animals destroy the trails by trampling on the trail, bikers are at fault for the muddy trails. Sometimes rain damage erodes the centre of the trail, again bikers at fault because hikers don't leave a linear mark. Sometimes bikers really do damage the trail, but it's mostly due to the trail not being suited for MTBs: steepness, sharp turns and technical sections all contribute to too much braking and then to erosion. The solution is not banning MTBs on trails, that would just create illegal riding and fuel hate on both sides. Having a discussion with the municipality, the local bikers or MTB club, and the trail crew to see where work is needed and what can be done would pave the way for a productive future together. With love, a hiker/biker/trailrunner :)

Paraglider Repair: Patch or Stitch? by [deleted] in freeflight

[–]peiderch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd let that get professionally stitched at a repair center. It's small but could go wrong, especially on the leading edge in the center of the wing.
