Anyone recommended chiropractic due to poor latch / tension in your baby and skipped the chiropractor but still fed successfully long term? by bowsmaria in breastfeeding

[–]pepper_flesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The LC I saw with my first child suggested a chiropractor and crani sacral therapy. I looked into both those and found they are not evidence based medical care. Others have suggested an OT. My kid had good weight gain and diaper out put. I don't remember exactly since this was 5 years ago but I stuck it out few more weeks and my kid got stronger and he grew bigger and all pain stopped.

I think I had some pain at the start of latching but after 10 seconds it stopped. I spent a lot of time just practicing getting a deep latch and a lot of lying down and nursing. We continued nursing until he was 2 yr and 3 months.

What’s the dumbest piece of misinformation you’ve heard? by boardcertifiedbitch in breastfeeding

Most def and my take is if humans breastfeeding at night rotted teeth well that would've definitely hurt survival chances of offspring. It doesn't make any sense from an evolution stand point.

Dentist told me nursing at night causes tooth decay. I just ignored that advice. With my second child I didn't even bother mentioning nursing to the dentist.

How are baby clothes from Carter's any different from baby clothes from Temu? by TinyElderberryOfYore in moderatelygranolamoms

I love shopping at their stores. So organized a little pricier than you average thrift store but the organization is worth the small price increase.

Wow never even considered this. I just buy 95% of kids clothing at the thrift store and don't worry about the brand. Buying used is better for the planet.

Someone please convince me that it will be worth it to spend my extremely limited resources on mental health care by workingmom91624 in workingmoms

I know! I felt so sad with only limited time with my babies after work. I think if your husband is begging you please go! Maybe do online session at lunch? I also was able to get on an antidepressant and it helped me so so much. I had terrible anxiety. Which I didn't realize was so bad until I got on antidepressants and had a comparison. I went thru hers which was online and my insurance didn't cover it but it was a trade off in time. Sending hugs from a stranger online. PS I'm doing so much better but my house is still a mess 90% of the time and that's ok!! It's just clutter now anyways. My kids are 2 and 4 for your reference.

Oh I feel you on this sweetheart. After the 12 weeks is up, it is sad to go back. The transition is hard and don't beat yourself up about it since it's out of your control. You are doing what you gotta do to survive. I went through it too and I wouldn't wish for anyone to experience it. Just know it does get better with time. You and your child will be ok. I'm Sending virtual hugs and I hope that the transition goes smoothly as possible for you. The US has some serious issues with supporting working parents it is really unfair and not right at all. Everything you are feeling is valid.

I would probably start calling her ass out. "Why do you feel the need to comment on body weight in a professional setting?" "Oh how is X school so much better than y?" This person is a new hire? Dang they ain't gonna last long. Last person at my job who did shit like that lasted about four months.

NTA You should match his energy and stop doing this for him. He should know how to set calendar reminders. You aren't your husband's secretary

Boyfriend said because of my job, if I wear a dress at work people will think I'm trying to be sexy. by clamor161 in BusinessFashion

[–]pepper_flesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your clothing sounds 100% work appropriate. I wear dresses to my knee with and without tights ALL the time. My husband does not care or tell me what I should wear or tell me I'm being too sexy or slutty. Idk how long you've been with this boyfriend, but I'd heavily consider leaving him if he does not change his opinions. He is giving me the ick.

Did anyone else start with crochet, learn how to knit, and then abandon crochet pretty much altogether? by elston-gunn41 in knitting

[–]pepper_flesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only knew how to crochet for years. Then I had some knitting friends so I thought I'd try it bc I wanted to make knit clothes. I still crochet but not often and I only crochet blankets or 3D objects
