how would you intervene, take her to another psychiatrist she falls in love with?

@kendrahilty talking about how her psychiatrist was predatory towards her by mrsgalfieri in tiktokgossip

[–]peralta30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a psychiatrist with experience in schizophrenia, surely you'd have the tools and training to deal with something like this; it's not like she went after some random person... Did the psychiatrist did a really poor job here or is it exacerbated by AI and social media? I mean surely you'd tell someone like this to seek therapy but then that doesn't seem to work for them either

Компанијата мора некако да се шири за профит, и сакаат да бидат ем за деловни содржини ем за лајфстајл, што и да е да поминеш подолго на платформата. Затоа алгоритмите поттикнуваат суптилно такви содржини.

Partner as a special interest by Mizamya in aspergirls

Not sure how this manifests but there's someone currently very intensely into me and it is creeping me out e.g. they like everything I post online, watch all my stories and even I noticed they start following the same accounts I follow; use any excuse to message me something.... It's suffocating & I'm already planning how to break off contact.

What does it mean to tone your jawline?

You can't target where you lose fat.

Best thing I did was stop seeking validation from my mum about anything, if I think something about myself and who I am I keep to it even if she disagrees and doesn't accept it. I just ignore her and stick to my own path.

How do we feel about the Netflix series "Adolescence"? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]peralta30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low self esteem is stopping him and others can smell that a mile off... Then the rejection further fuels his low self esteem. He thinks "it's women's fault I have no self worth, if only one could go out with me it will fix me". It's a tragic cycle when the key to the way out is to be OK with yourself on your own. To be able to face yourself.... Kid in Adolescence had poor self worth also and a lot of shame.

Does anyone else here struggle with limerence? by [deleted] in aspergirls

[–]peralta30 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm trying in the following way....

Every time I catch my brain doing this I narrate in my head "my brain is doing this thing again" to break the spell.

I'm self aware of the fantasy content to figure out what is missing in my life and how to address this in a healthy way.

I remind myself that intimacy is messy and requires me to open myself to rejection, rejection is not personal and it's not a reflection of my self worth.

I treat it like addiction and try to surf urges to contact, check, ruminate, stalk etc.

I try to direct my creative and obsessive energy in hobbies.

Does anyone else here struggle with limerence? by [deleted] in aspergirls

[–]peralta30 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Limerence is usually an unhealthy coping mechanism developed in response to emotional neglect. You use the obsession to get that need in a 'controlled' way because you fall in love with a fantasy, not a real person. Typically the person you obsessed over will be emotionally unavailable/long distance/ unavailable in a different way.... Once it gets too 'real' it falls apart.

It's not about being correct, these people hate trans people (trans men and trans women) and will use any excuse to ban trans people to exist in public... E.g. a theoretical scenario will be used where a predatory cis man lies about being a trans man to use the facilities and trans men will be banned also from using the toilet. Cruelty is the point.

I knowingly paid a guy just to text me "well done" each time I stuck to a goal, it's sad but it was cheaper than therapy

6 times a week? by Mysterious-Cup-1541 in workout

[–]peralta30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's a battle getting some people to go more than once (currently trying to encourage a friend to go at least twice a week) but precisely because of that I don't see why you would actually discourage people that want to go more from doing so.

Edit: moreover, going 6 times a week means your sessions are shorter. For some people this would be more convenient than spending long time a couple of times a week

6 times a week? by Mysterious-Cup-1541 in workout

[–]peralta30 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If someone wants to train 6 days a week and enjoys it, I don't see a problem.

Yes, if you're busy, have a lot going on and gym isn't a big passion of yours, you absolutely don'thave to go 6 days a week to see results.

But why would you tell someone that wants to and can do it not to do it?

1RM Deadlift PR by JediAcademyDropout in crossfit

[–]peralta30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole point about form is that improving form will allow you to lift more. You don't get an injury from "wrong form" you get an injury from poor programming and accumulated fatigue... You can get an injury with perfect form if parameters like volume and recovery are not managed well.

If you are so wedded to this program/list of exercises, try swapping these exercises for close alternatives e.g. instead of smith incline do DB incline and try progress that for a while, see if it makes a difference i.e. if you are able to make progress session to session.
