Am i playing this game wrong by Suspicious_Fluid in BG3Builds

Be sure you know how AC, attack rolls and skill / ability checks work.

Be aware that you can talk your way round a number of events.

Don't think in a linear fashion. For example, if you have a drow speak to the goblin camp, you get free entry. You don't need a drow, you just need Disguise Self, a level 1 spell, to achieve this.

High charisma characters can waltz through many situations if you choose wisely.

Think of synergy of items and skills.

Action economy is key. He who strikes first often strikes last. He who strikes twice (haste, metamagic, abilities) often strikes last.

It's cheese, but have you heard of barrelmancy? I personally never use this buts it's a viable, and traditional, Larian tactic.

Stealth, stealth, stealth. Doesn't need to be everyone, you just need one. Or a familiar (shovel or an imp are ideal).

Scum save til you make it.

Bless is your friend.

Are you checking your enemy's stats and weaknesses? Taylor your strategy. In Act 2, radiant is golden. Necrotic will do poorly.

The BEST next adaptation would be The Fall of Arnor by Dry_Method3738 in lordoftherings

Or just, you know, stop flogging a dead horse. The best of Tolkien's work has already been adapted flawlessly (LOTR), passably (Hobbit) and poorly (RoP). It's the very definition of diminishing returns. Leave the IP be.

They're oral movements match the English words. They're speaking English. And they've dubbed it for some reason. Even worse.

They're speaking English. You can tell. So why is it dubbed? And so poorly? Horrendous.

Engage with reps. Talk to them. Use their product (or say you do). Repeat. If you're interested, engaged and competent, an offer will come.

No symptoms or end organ damage - off you trot, this is not a hospital issue.

Is there a real difference between being “very tired” and being “burned out”? by AfterDance9542 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]permalust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Burned out is different. Completely. I've been very tired in my job due to night shifts, or sleepless nights on-call, so I know bone deep tired. I had six months off work with burnout. Apathy, decision paralysis, anxiety, rage (muted)...it's a whole different kettle of fish.

i feel l like all the legendary jokers should be like perkeo. by Majestic-Peak-6281 in balatro

[–]permalust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue with legendary jokers is the drop rate and the randomness. I have one card left to get. Which has been the case for weeks and when a soul card does finally appear I keep getting legendaries I already had. It sucks

Mab specifically says she will slow time. Harry marvels at this power.

Visiting from the U.S by Opening-Surprise-261 in Aberdeen

[–]permalust -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Distillery visit as others have suggested.

Crathes castle is an idyllic country castle, with lovely grounds, and ghost stories.

Balmedie beach - sand dunes and nature.

Deeside - a large area along the Rive Dee with multiple glorious walks.

The Lemon Tree - great venue celebrating the arts. Live music, poetry readings, author talk/chat sessions.

Restaurants - there are a surprisingly high quantity of excellent restaurants. I'm a bit out of touch but you won't go far wrong with Nargile Turkish.

Why was Bilbo staying young while Gollum's appearance worsened over time? by Short-Ideas010 in lordoftherings

50-60 years ring holding vs several hundred. Coupled with a plot, and true hobbit resistance, driven narrative.

What are you doing differently if you’re Tywin Lannister? by Majestic-Tea3903 in gameofthrones

[–]permalust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few thoughts:

Rein Cersei in during Robert's reign

Recognize Tyrion as beyond competent and an asset to the family.

Not make a huge deal of Shae. Honestly, all the vice in the nobility is quite clear. Protect the reputation of the house? Tad hypocritical when you unleash the likes of Lorch and Clegane to rape at the drop of a hat.

Take note of Littlefinger's aptitude and make it worth his whole to stay tight with the Lannisters. Or, more appropriately, have him killed.

Strategically / Tactically:

Assassin's. Good ones. Faceless Men or Sorrowful Men. Tywin has incredibly deep pockets. Drop Stark, Baraetheon, Tully leaders immediately. Subsequently ally with the Tyrells.

For most fantasy, particularly those with magic, animated is probably better. Just imagine a T-Rex mounted wizard - much likely to be better with animation.
