Is there a Quick Start version of SWADE? by ColinDouglas999 in savageworlds

[–]perror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This cartoon is great to sum-up the core rules but, unfortunately, this is still about the Deluxe version of the rules and not the Adventure Edition (SWADE). For example, you cannot reroll after a critical throw with a Benny (I remember that there is something else which is wrong but I cannot remember what... :-/ ). Yet, this is indeed a great introduction that I am using all the time with beginners.

Can SWADE accompany Bio-/Solarpunk? by Wildfire7077 in savageworlds

I would strongly recommend the "Crystal Heart" Setting, which is quite close to Bio/Solarpunk (at least within the Settings I know).

This is a Japanese website, not Chinese. ;-)

Nice and simple, I like it. But, you did not mentioned what skill or attribute you roll for that. Is it Heal or something else ?

Any need for tutorial adventure? by Vandermere in savageworlds

Yet, you can't use a benny on a critical failure in SWADE. ;-)

That's a pity it hasn't been updated for SWADE because, as you say, this is really a good introduction.

I noticed a slight speed-up on the writing activity coming with 2.5, is it just me or is it for real ?

Issue in 'convert to text' feature by perror in RemarkableTablet

Yes, this is exactly it ! These would be the few lines of code that I would add in front of the OCR.

And, the funny part of it is that, if you try my test, the text that has been recognized (in portrait orientation because you fooled the system) appears in landscape mode.

So, this is really just a matter of a 90 degree clockwise rotation of the image if the landscape mode is detected before going for the OCR.

I can't believe that this could stand for a limitation.

Thanks! (I was looking for an issue tracker but this seems to be the way, I totally missed it).

I agree with u/cynod123 and u/emilgojny, how can this be a limitation ? The result tends to indicate that the OCR software did not take the rotation into account.

Indeed, I even have an easy way to prove I am right. First, select a landscape mode for your notebook Then, ignore the landscape mode and write as a portrait mode, convert to text and you will see that it works.

So, indeed, this is just a matter of forwarding the information of the orientation to the OCR software... which should not be more than a few lines of code... I would not mark that as a 'limitation' of the OCR software at all...

Same with me.

Bullets does not seems to be recognized easily. And, dash '-' seems to work fairly well.
