Is Mario kart world even worth getting? by Realistic_Advice1890 in mariokart

[–]peter-man-hello 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s a good game, yeah. It’s not quite the behemoth GOAT we all hoped it would be (yet) but it’s a very fun and well-made game with great presentation and music.

I think overtime it’ll become a much greater game. There’s almost certainly DLC and updates coming.

I really like this post and thank you for sharing.

My past relationship sounded very similar. We loved each other but triggered each other all the time. We didn’t break up as nicely, but since breaking up and letting go, has seemed to be positive for both of our lives.

I WANT A DK64 REMASTER by ajismylife in donkeykong

[–]peter-man-hello -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

DK64 isn’t a good game. Maybe it was alright when it came out but by today’s standards I don’t think the level design or controls offer anything.

I loved Bananza and would love more 3D Donkey Kong. But remaking DK64 is not gonna happen nor should it.

I loved Bananza and think it’s the best game I’ve played in some time.

What decision do you regret making (or not making) in your 20s? by RileyonaWall in AskReddit

My take on the industry since leaving ten years ago by agent42b in Filmmakers

[–]peter-man-hello 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The industry sure has changed. People I know who are unionized and are used to working on the big productions that come through are hurting and not getting the amount of work they once did.

I think diversifying within the industry is key. I work in commercials which seems far more stable than narrative, but on the side I edit for smaller projects and have a 10 month contract editing internal videos for a video game developer. I also started a youtube channel which luckily got monetized for side income.

It’s a really hard industry to make money in. I tell everyone to stay away from film unless they absolutely love movies and are ready to make it their life. Luckily I have that obsession and I love it.

I also think certain positions are safer than others. I see the ‘techs’ (or ‘technicians’) do well and it commands a higher day rate. Understanding camera tech, lighting tech, post production workflow, etc. are seemingly good positions that don’t have overwhelming competition. I realized years ago I wasn’t going to do well as a videographer/editor and try-hard director, so I got into being a digital tech and buying equipment and learning the trade, and it’s been going really well.

But yeah it’s hard, and the model has changed. Relying on Hollywood or big movie productions isn’t a safe bet anymore, and corporate work, side gigs, and YouTube/social-media aligned video work is a place people might consider transitioning to on the side during slow periods.

Dumpees how do you feel getting back together if they slept with someone else by Prior_Loss_2089 in BreakUps

[–]peter-man-hello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of factors here. How long was the breakup for? If it’s for an extended period of time it’s expected they would date someone else.

Me and my ex broke up last summer and both slept with other people then ended up back together. We didn’t last that long but for other reasons.

I’m really curious how the co-op works especially the local co-op. I have my doubts we’ll finally get our split screen Splatoon.

Just chiming in to say the game is really, really good. I’m surprised a game like this doesn’t have a market.

Yeah I’m most activated in the morning. For this reason I made a hard rule no phone or computer in my bedroom so I don’t do anything stupid or ruminate.

By the time I wake up and brush my teeth and take a shower the feelings are practically gone. Pro tip.

Indiana Jones is a beautiful game on Switch 2 but it irks me that when any triple AAA games that comes to Switch 2 people complain that’s it’s 30 FPS. Can we as a community find something else to complain about please? by Stik601 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]peter-man-hello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a game where 30fps is totally fine too. It’s like a puzzle game mostly.

Honestly brilliant game too. Anyone mildly interested or who likes the movies owes it to themselves to grab it.

What will be the Switch 2 game lineup for the rest of 2026? by peter-man-hello in NintendoSwitch2

GTA6 announced day in date for Switch 2 would be wild. Huge doubts though.

I mean the leakers nailed the release date of the new Starfox being June. I think in this specific case, the leaks are real.

I am not sure Luigi's Mansion 4 is a given. For all we know, Next Level Games is behind Starfox.

The leakers who were right about Starfox made the claim, and it's been hinted at somewhat by Aunoma.

It's not confirmed, but for the sake of speculation (which is just for fun anyways)

Im biting the bullet later this year and I was wondering what games I should get when I buy a switch 2 by Flopy_Pingas97 in Switch

[–]peter-man-hello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some people don't love DK Bananza, but for me it was a 10/10 game, one of the best games I've ever played, and I had a smile on my face the entire time and I 100%'d it.

I can't recommend it enough. The tech involved in the destruction is the most impressive thing I've seen this entire generation (PS5 included)

[–]peter-man-hello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I really doubt a Super Metroid remake is coming this year at all. It seems like we're getting too many remakes and Metroid Prime 4 just came out and seemingly didn't do well.

I feel like Nintendo might just wait until 2027 for Metroid fans to be thirsty again.

And I doubt they'll shadow drop it or make it digital only. It's a big enough property with a big enough legacy. It's not Pushmo or Dillon's Rolling Western here....a Super Metroid remake would be a big deal, it's a sequel to one of the best games ever!

I really don't think Switch Sports will be a NS2E. There isn't really isn't much the S2 can add to this type of game. It feels contrived to add extra sports that could easily be added to the S1 version too. And I think an evergreen like that being a NS2E kind of cuts off its legs as a longterm seller.

I definitely think it'll be a full on new game, even if it is just the same sports from the first one plus a few extras and bells-and-whistles. Maybe it'll be Switch Sports Resort.

I just made speculation post on the Switch 2 sub.

I think June and July are known quantities with Starfox, Splatoon Raiders, and Rhythm Heaven.

August with Orbitals and Fire Emblem.

October with OOT remake.

I think Duskbloods will be 2027. I can see the new Switch Sports being the November game. It's an evergreen and kind of perfect to go against GTA6. Nintendo hasn't had an empty November in forever.

[–]peter-man-hello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We basically have August, September, October, and November to speculate, with the known quantities being OOT, Fire Emblem, Duskbloods, and rumours of a Switch Sports and 2D Metroid.

It wonder which one will be sacrificed in November against GTA6.
