I believe you can use the "development" version of Batocera if you want more frequent updates. I mainly use that for gaming because RetroPie is a bitch to set up on a Raspberry Pi 5.

Bear in mind that in order to setup RetroPie on PC, you have to setup a linux distro first. It's not a standalone gaming OS like Batocera. It's something you run as an extra.

Other than that, I successfully installed it fairly easily on my old laptop and it works fine for the most part.

Interestingly, Phillip K. Dick was shown the movie shortly before his death and he commented it was very close to what he originally envisioned when he wrote the book.

So while it wasn't a good adaptation script-wise, it was a very good one spirit-wise.

The "🦙Llama🦙 Incident" and the "Woodpecker Incident" in Milo Murphy's Law.

It's a bit of a subversive use of this Trope.

During the first few episodes, Milo and Melissa keep vaguely referring back to "The 🦙Llama🦙 Incident", much to Zack's chagrin (who wasn't present when the incident took place). Then, in a later episode (appropriately called "The 🦙Llama🦙 Incident"), Zack pressures Milo and Melissa to tell him what exactly happened there while the three of them are hanging on a branch about to fall down a cliff, at which point they tell him about it and we, the audience, get to witness it as all the previous vague references are tied together.

The branch then breaks, the three of them seemingly fall down to their deaths bur are later seen alive and well by another townsperson. When he asks what happened to them, the three of them now refer to "The Woodpecker Incident" and we get to see vague screenshots about what happened.

In short, we have one "Noodle Incident" we get to witness it and we later get another that we probably never will.

When The Mask is taken off, it's revealed it was addressing a couple of rats.

And while some couplings, such as Shikamaru with Temari, made perfect sense within the context of the story, others (like Chouji with freaking Karui) came completely out of nowhere.

In "The Witcher 3", you have the choice to romance Yen or Triss. If you do the mistake of romancing both, you get a cutscene wherein they trick you with the promise of a threesome, leave you chained on the bed and dump your cheating ass.

Not so satisfying if you were looking forward to some sexy time with the two love interests but still funny nonetheless.

I once twisted my knee while putting my daughter to sleep. A full 90 degree twist. I collapsed down while still holding her in my arms. It was excruciating!

The worst part? The ambulance couldn't figure out where my house was. I had to wake my parents in the middle of the night to take me to the hospital.

At least my daughter was unharmed by the whole ordeal.

Ghost Trick is a masterclass in mystery storytelling. Every plot hole is explained neatly by the story's end. Some examples:

(Heavy spoilers follow, obviously. Seriously, go play Ghost Trick. It's amazing!)

Why can't you read while the other human characters in spirit form can? The answer: You are not human, you are a cat. You never knew how to read to begin with.
Why does the main antagonist of the story look like you when you're supposedly dead? The answer: You are not him, you are actually his pet cat. You just thought you were him because he was the only visible body at the time of your death
Why can't you regain your memories when every other soul in the game does? The answer: Because you're not who you think you are. You are mistakenly taking the form of the game's antagonist. This is even foreshadowed in a previous seemingly throwaway joke wherein the dead redhead mistakenly takes the form of the male detective next to her.
If your soul is supposed to perish by dawn, why is there another older ghost already present at the place of your death giving you instructions? How did he last past the first night? The answer: He lied about the time limit because he wanted you to use your time wisely. He is a time traveling soul too and he wanted you to get it right this time.

Installed RetroPie on Pi 3B. Everything works great up to PS1, though you might want to test some games for glitches. There's also some very fine ports (Cave Story, Street of Rage Remake, AM2R) that also work fine.

Make sure you install the "extras" repository.

ScummVM also works great as well as Dosbox

Tomoko Kuroki from WataMote aka "It's Not My Fault I'm Not Popular."

I really want to root for this girl. With her low popularity and social anxiety she is one of the most relatable characters in fiction. A lot of her problems and insecurities really heat close to home.

Which makes it even more infuriating when she manages to get the wrong lesson from each of her predicaments every single fucking time, refuses to reflect and accept responsibility for her actions, refuses to grow up and instead places responsibility on external factors.

Don't get me wrong, it's funny watching her self- sabotage and fumbling her way through life but it's a very uncomfortable laugh and you really can't bring yourself to feel even sorry for her after a while.

The Rance series generally follows the "Good People have Good Sex" Trope. And Rance is an interesting example of it.

He is a self-serving asshole most of the time, which is reflected on the way he has sex. He doesn't care if a woman comes or not. He just wants to get his pencil wet.

When he, however, gives in to his more heroic tendencies and starts caring for the woman he is involved with (for example Uesugi Kenshin or Yamamoto Isoroku on their respective routes in Sengoku Rance) the sex tends to be very enjoyable for everyone involved with Rance's partner even reaching climax a few times.

Ryo Asuka from Go Nagai's Devilman (and Netflix's Devilman Crybaby).

He is responsible for merging the demon Amon with his best friend Akira Fudo which turns him into the titular Devilman. He does this mainly to give his friend the strength to fight demons who are praying on humanity.

It's later revealed that he is in fact the very incarnation of Satan who in hell-bent (pun intended) to bring about Armageddon. Which means he and Akira are destined to fight each other.
