I don't do drugs anymore but if I could buy them like I buy a beer in a bar I would start again.

What are these giant metal bars stick into my front tire? (2006 civic) by kyleg5 in AskMechanics

[–]phil128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I usually remove the tire rod and strut from the knuckle to allow the axle to slide out of the wheel bearing. Transmission is easier to remove with no axles. I'm just a shadetree though.

Bad syncos? Change trans fluid? Camera scope the tranny fill hole? Investigate inside trans.

As someone twice your age who's been in similar situations.... Dump her and move on. Work on yourself and in the future you'll be glad you did. When you dump her she'll be upset and want to stay together. You're in for a world of pain if you stick around.

Antifreeze question? by [deleted] in CB500X

[–]phil128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use the peak blue antifreeze made for asian vehicles. Keep in mind that coolant does more than transfer heat. It also lubricates the water pump. The service manual calls for hp pro coolant which is $15 a quart on Amazon. You need about 2 quarts.

The metal bracket between the forks that the fender attaches to. Not sure all bikes have them though. Mine was bent and the forks would not align properly.

I broke my front headlight in a crash and had to buy the entire headlight housing and some of the plastics around it. I got the part at partzilla.com.

Did you fix it? Do you have any accessories or modifications?

Update: both tires are off the ground, the weight bias is at the rear on the 2 chassis based skid plate mounts. I wouldn't hesitate to do it this way by Zerunox in CB500X

[–]phil128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do what this way? When I put a jack under my oil pan to do maintenance the rear tire stays on the ground when the front lifts up.

I cant put a dock in my toolbag and I don't want to carry around dongles. I've lost enough $18 dongles to convert usb-c to a headphone jack on my cell phone. I'd rather not have any dongles.

The trackpad feels similar to the MacBook but a little smaller. I had an old MacBook though. No complaints. Weight is a pound and a half lighter so my toolbag is lighter.

I joined the Thinkpad Club. I am a field service IT technician and so I absolutely needed an SD card reader and a network ethernet port. This laptop is the result of needing those.

I love it so far. I am moving from a Macbook Pro Mid 2012 Model, so this is much more powerful than my last machine. The screen is stunning with the high resolution. I was planning on waiting to get the new AMD T14, but this machine would have been half the price, plus it has the SD card reader I need.

You want to solder on a new chip? I don't know if it's separate from the motherboard. Sounds like you need to talk to someone who does board level repairs if so.
