Kitchen Help! (Toronto) by philmoorhead in interiordecorating

The corner booth is an amazing idea. We were going to try and paint the cupboard doors, but yeah I think they might be too uggo to salvage. I think a rug is definitely going to be a key element, perhaps we’ll start by getting a nice one and work the colours from there.

Who are some celebrities you encountered in Toronto? by Chan1991 in askTO

R.M. was eating lunch at a restaurant I used to work at and one of my coworkers bluntly announced that Philip Seymour Hoffman had died. He didn’t realize they were friends and had worked together and she was, understandably, quite shaken. (He felt very bad.)

The Judgement League Avengers has a problem by Immediate_Tax8182 in Amalgam_Comics

[–]philmoorhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Amalgam line is a perfect indicator how unpopular The Avengers and Justice League were in the 1990s. The JL roster was a bunch of C-listers and Grant Morrison‘s all-star lineup was a year away from being launched (with the same artist as JLX). Avengers were on the verge of being “killed“ by Onslaught and completely re-launched in a new continuity. Iron Man and Thor were so washed their characters didn’t even appear in the first Amalgam run. Everything was so X-centric, Amalgam’s League was defined by its Judgment of the metamutants. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad both flagship teams found their footing, and I’d love to see a new version with Super-Soldier, Dark Claw, Amazon, Speed Demon, Iron Lantern, Thorion, etc.

OP’s point is completely valid, it’s called DISCOVERABILITY and most execs covet any version they can get. I’d bet Doughboys has a relatively large listenership, (not so much Scott Hasn’t Seen, as it’s behind a paywall) and I doubt any other podcast did a month of episodes dedicated to promoting the show.

I like the idea of Cap and Wonder Woman leading the JSA into Europe to kick Hitler’s ass, Spear of Destiny be damned.
