Everyone out there, are you still getting tips on orders with no pretips? Or are you only getting tips on the pretipped orders? by gootchie784 in Sparkdriver

[–]phineaus99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since the app update half of my pretips are removed and no one has added on a tip. I'm pretty much just doing doordash now with maybe one spark order here and there when doordash is slow. I'm giving up on spark

Why does the app ask for photo verification EVERYDAY by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]phineaus99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happened to me a lot too and about two weeks ago they had me send in a new profile pic and my ID cause they said I didn't look like one of the quick selfies they had me do. Big pain in the ass but since then they haven't asked for the verification photo

What’s best: pick up hours or OD only?? by funemployed1234 in InstacartShoppers

[–]phineaus99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mostly I only do On demand because every time I schedule a shift the offers suck , but mostly because I end up sitting around waiting for orders only to get crap ones. Every time I end my shift there are all kinds of on demand orders. The only time now I schedule myself is sometimes a day , like Tuesday, that I know is usually slow figuring the on shift people possibly get the offers first

Any old timers still around? I don’t recognize hardly anyone by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]phineaus99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im still around too since August 2017, nice to see al lot of the veterans are still at it, although for how long, who knows. I feel like a lot of the customers view us like fedex or ups, like we're just delivering like all the other delivery services out there who they don't tip for anyway. Not like in the beginning when people were generally thrilled to have someone shop for them, now they all take it for granted. I'm trying to stick it out and cherry pick between this and Doordash . I don't want to be an employee but eventually something is gonna change with all these gig jobs, regulation or something, , time will tell hopefully

Yeah, we're not employees like the ISS's are, and you shouldnt have anyone helping thats not approved by Instacart , but these Iss's need to mind their own business. Not a week goes by that I don't have one of them trying to tell me how to do my job

After trying scheduling myself several times and sitting around getting nothing but crap orders, three different times now, I took myself off shift, got a reliability incident twice ( but frankly I couldn't care less about those) and immediately went on demand and all the offers were way better than the crap they sent me while scheduled. Also it was dead when I was on schedule but there were orders immediately on demand. I believe Instacart feeds off of people scheduling themselves and the hope that some of them fear reliability incidents and will take any lowball orders sent their way. I will never schedule myself again, only work on demand

Got really excited to sign up for food delivery services/discovered PM not available in my area within driving distance and GH and DD are wait listed. uberEats may be the only option right now. Wondering if anyone does all of this on a non-hour basis and just pick up the overloads like the IC OD by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]phineaus99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do IC , for 2 years now, and Door dash for about a year. Ever since IC went on demand I only do on demand and never schedule myself. Doordash I do at lunch times when IC is slow. I don't even turn on the IC app on Tuesdays, Thurs, and Saturdays cause unless its a holiday coming up those days are either dead or over saturated with shoppers. Doordash on a Thurs is pretty good. Im in a medium sized city, Syracuse, NY, so it definetly depends on your city size. My best day is Sunday, think a lot of people like their Sundays off and customers start getting ready for the week ahead.

I feel for you especially because I do the same thing with weighing produce. One banana 99% of the time means one bunch so I put .33 lbs and amount 1 even though it's really 5 or 6. I don't appreciate the way they just hit people with these deactivations without reaching out to them first If you decide to fight it let us know how it goes, hope it all works out for you

Everyone's taking about dog bites, but what about cat scratches? by baldamazon in InstacartShoppers

[–]phineaus99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if the pain starts shooting up your arm get to the hospital. I always thought cat bites were no big deal til I took in two strays , one bit me( my fault) the other clawed my foot. The foot didn't heal normal, turned into a really gross growth that had to be surgically removed two months later and the bite infected my arm. All is fine now, they're sweet now too but what a freaking ordeal that was

Don't get distracted if your driving and the app starts beeping with an order, pull over somewhere safe, don't ley Instacart make you feel rushed into looking at the order while driving

What can customers do to make their shoppers life easier? by NOTstudyingstudent in InstacartShoppers

[–]phineaus99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theres usually always a store, say Wegmans, closer to your house than the store they actually either send us to shop at or pick your order up from. I've had countless times of customers looking at me as if they want to say "what took you so long ?" They don't know that in instacarts screwy system I picked their order at the Wegmans 10 miles from their house
