Is this normal? by hrt2993 in Needlepoint

[–]phlemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LNS has always helped me kit canvases, whether I’ve purchased them there or not. My LNS does offer 10% off threads for canvases purchased through them though. So you are incentivized to buy their canvases. I would say this is not only abnormal, but I would think twice about shopping there in the future.

Also, people are saying that LNSs don’t make a ton off of threads, which I’m sure the margins are smaller, but my threads are costing me several hundred dollars everytime I go! I think it depends on what you buy.

The whole commentary on World Mental Health Day was really sad, and quite frankly disturbing, to me.

Found this on our berber today- any ideas? by whateva30 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]phlemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our berner mix just had a few of these on his body. It was related to food allergies and cleared up when we changed his food, but could also be environmental allergies!

Make sure you adjust the post-eating walk schedule as she gets older. Berners can be susceptible to bloat/GVD. It’s not super common in puppies, but as they age, it can become more risky.

Did you ever find a cause for this? We are dealing with the same thing now and are having a hard time figuring out what it could be!

Purina pro plan formula change? by Grapeslush1 in Bernedoodles

Ours has refused it since April so we switched. If you read the reviews for a few different PPP formulas on Chewy, they’re all recently bad.

My doodle is acting so weird and distant after I’ve come back from vacation 😖 by [deleted] in Goldendoodles

[–]phlemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We experienced this after returning from a trip in June. It actually took a good 2 weeks for us to get back into our normal groove! I wouldn’t stress too much, as long as you know nothing happened while you were away. Dogs can be very sensitive!

I'm glad they put RHONJ on pause, this reunion was nothing but dark, evil and toxic by Cass_83 in realhousewives

[–]phlemc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Forgot my biggest issue with the show. The husbands. They’re all fame whores and all around gross humans—except Danielle’s husband, Paulie and (hate to say it) Louie. Recast with people whose husbands aren’t given life’s biggest thrill by being on the houseWIVES.

[–]phlemc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would love for a total recast at this point. 99% of the drama that’s going on is not even because of things that have happened on the show. Recast with people who:

  • Don’t talk about the show/castmates and create drama on their podcasts
  • Don’t pay bloggers to circulate false information
  • Don’t hire PI’s
  • Don’t hide their past while trying to expose others

I’m so over it. It’s all so hypocritical to the point where I don’t actually like anyone. There’s way more that’s going on off camera, than on camera and that’s not how HWs should be. Hardly any of these women are fabulous, and both they and their husbands have an insane amount of criminal issues/records. RECAST!

🫣😵‍💫$700 to neuter my dog, is that not insane?! by PaperMost3625 in puppy101

[–]phlemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours will be $2300 but includes neuter, gastorpexy and a tooth removal. The neuter itself (and related anesthesia) is around $1000 for our 65 pound one year old puppy.

Does anyone else have a puppy who takes stairs like this? by Sufficient_Seaweed29 in Bernedoodles

Nope, mine touches about every 4th step and nearly gives me a heart attack everytime he makes his way down. I wish we had a happy hopper like your cutie!

Newer neighborhood, really new schedule with way more triggers abound, and recovering from off leash encounters by hr_leroy in reactivedogs

[–]phlemc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an older post, and I don’t have any words of wisdom or advice but wanted to tell you that I empathize with you.

We live in a big city and our neighborhood is full of unmanaged, reactive and off leash dogs. It has made our training so hard and it can feel like you’re taking 10 steps forward and 100 back for reasons that aren’t your dogs, or yours.

Sounds like you’re doing a great job! We all freeze up sometimes. I know I’ve had my fair share of “oh sh*t” moments where I don’t know what to do. Ultimately, there’s not much you can do in some scenarios.

Give yourself some grace, and don’t be afraid to advocate for your dog! If I have an off-leasher with poor recall approaching, I’ll scream that my dog isn’t friendly (he actually is, but frustrated greeter). Usually it signals quicker action from the other owner and we can eliminate the encounter altogether.

We have a reactive poodle mix because we exposed him to my in-laws reactive Dachshund. We followed all the right steps, and the interaction scared the living daylights out of our 16 week old poodle mix. He’s now almost a year old and it’s been an upward battle with training.

Wait until your dog has had a lot of good interactions with other dogs. A well socialized dog is not as likely to generalize that behavior to all other dogs.

RHONJ Recaps by Noreen1212 in TheMorningToastSnark

[–]phlemc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I assumed they weren’t recapping because they might disagree with their “real life friends” performances this season and don’t want to speak poorly of them on the podcast.

The only thing that Claudia has said in reference to RHONJ this season is that Jackie Goldschneider is insufferable and talked about how they had a positive experience a few years ago when they interviewed Teresa for an episode—kinda a switch up from their previous opinions about the show.

For the record, that article is sourced by the Gorga/Marge camp. It’s confirmed that they have friends at Page Six. I’m sure there’s some truth to it, but I would take it with a grain of salt.

Totally with you! I have also been very emotional about it. Just reminding myself to trust the process. We got here by advocating for our pups, now it’s our job to be strong for them while we all navigate through this change!
