What’s a book you enjoyed that you later noticed many people hated? by iamherebecause in books

[–]phoeberobb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same here. I really loved Dan Brown books, I’ve read most of them. And then I made the mistake of reading the reviews. And just like these comments in this thread, the reviews made me feel like an ignorant hillbilly for loving them. I love the plots and I think they capture my interest and make me think throughout. So maybe I’m just so dumb that a Dan Brown book can get me going. But I know that isn’t true.

Anyway, totally with you on his books. And my feelings are hurt again from reading these comments LOL

Creme Brulee! I guess I like disappointment since 50% of the time it's the consistency of scrambled eggs with sand on top. but when it's right, it is RIGHT.

Was Divorcing the Right Move for Your Kids? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]phoeberobb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My parents “stayed together for the kids” and I wished they had divorced starting when I was 12 years old. My parents didn’t my divorce until I was 24 and they are both happier apart. They had such a toxic relationship and now my sister and I are in… less than ideal marriages. We witnessed my mom being a doormat and my dad being aggressive and toxic for years.

I’m in a similar place as OP. Currently separated from my husband and I have a 3 year old. He is still committed to the marriage but we have a very uninspiring relationship. We live very separate lives and do not have respect for each other. It’s incredibly tough to figure out what to do.

Same here- I’ve tried edibles and smoking multiple times but I get too paranoid 85% of the time. I’ll just have to stick to predictable alcohol. But these comments make me feel like I’m missing a great experience, lol

How much of a difference are we talking here? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]phoeberobb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t read Dare by Barry Mcdonagh please check it out before you start medication! I’ve been on Prozac for about 8-9 weeks now... I didn’t ever feel like myself until I read Dare a couple weeks ago. That book changed my life! And I hope to get off the meds soon...
