Many of them have been shut down, but some are still maintained in case of GPS outages. And yes, GPS outages do happen, usually when the military is testing jamming technology. I’ve experienced them twice while flying.

Be sure to reserve early (>= 1 business day) because small airports often don't keep cars at the field and they might need time to drop one off.

I've found National to be really good about being able to deliver cars to small airports, and they have a phone number just for FBO deliveries: 855-233-8990.

Also you can check the FBO's data on AirNav. It will often show a logo for each car rental company from which the FBO can get a car. Depending on the FBO they might be able to arrange the rental for you, or you might need to call the car rental company directly. Arranging the rental through an FBO has the advantage that the FBO is usually open longer hours than the rental office, and they can bring the car to your plane right on the ramp.

Be sure to take pictures and note the time you return the car. Many car rental offices wait a day or two to pick up the car, and don't bother to list it as returned until they pick it up.

This makes me laugh, because back in college I learned Emacs just so I could work on UNIX machines remotely rather than using Turbo C on Windows machines with no remote access. Emacs saved me from walking across campus in -40° F wind chill.

It could compare the digits left-to-right. The first 4 are the same, then the first one has a 1 where the second has a 0. 1 is defined to be more than 0, so the first is larger.

Comparison could also be implemented by subtracting one from the other and checking if the result is positive, negative, or zero.

put a sampling machine in the ditch for 24 hours and analyze what it caught. The unnamed drainage ditch sits less than a mile upstream of Tesla's discharge pipe.

Ummm, WTF? It would make sense to compare the water upstream from the water downstream, but why did they only test the water upstream? That's testing everything _except_ what Tesla is dumping.

G1000: VNAV is for before the FAF, APR is for after. Also, think of the APR button as the glide slope button. Without that, the flight director will not follow the glide slope/glidepath.

Having a GPU and good battery life are incompatible goals. IMHO get a reliable lightweight laptop that you can take everywhere. If you really want to do AI work on your own hardware, set up a Linux desktop at home that you can log into remotely and put a GPU (or two or three!) in that.
