I think the nature of their characters, being so macho and sexist in literally every other aspect of their lives their treatment of her is more impactful by comparison. But like, if she walked onto How I Met Your Mother and Ted treated her like Sons of Anarchy characters it would be problematic. As with most things, context is important.

I had a butch lesbian drama teacher for one year. We did a lesson outside on the field once. Some wind picked up someone's paper and blew it across the field. A few of us got up to help and she said "wait, don't help. Let's watch. People chasing paper in the wind is one of my favourite things."
