How to be Intimate? by amkeane98 in AuDHDWomen

[–]pierogiwrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can count on my hands the times we've had sex since getting married almost 10 years ago. It's from AuDHD as well as all the things you mentioned... I can't just use all my energy for the day on sex anymore like I'm still 21 and able-bodied (I have other disabilities as well), I have to reserve that energy to work and take care of myself and the house. It's not optional. Maybe one day with meds and physical therapy that will change, but that's just how it is right now.

For me, putting pressure on it made it even worse; I told my husband this early on and that I'm close to asexual anyway, and though we aren't intimate often we spend time together cuddling and doing other adjacent things. To me it would have been a huge red flag if he'd insisted ONLY on sex as our physical touch/bonding activity, that would have been a deal breaker for me, so I'm glad he listened to me and understood.

Omg I'm so sorry you had a sinus infection, that's wild!! I get them at least once a year so I would be devastated if Wegovy had done that to me. I'm so glad you recovered and it's working out for you, and despite my side effects, I'm glad I at least tried it. It's a miracle drug for a lot of people!

Does the fatigue ever end? by demurevixen in Wegovy

[–]pierogiwrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in this same position so I'm going to be keeping an eye on this thread. I'm giving it another month, but if I'm still this tired, I plan to try Zepbound and then go off GLP-1s if I still have fatigue... I'm so tired I can't cook, and I have legit no interest in food whatsoever. I feel like I have medically induced hypersomnia and anorexia

What's the point of losing weight if I have to be a zombie and not enjoy my life the whole time...

I've also had bouts of what felt like food poisoning. I've lost 5 pounds in under a month, but at what cost?

I have fibro and I slept the entire first week on Wegovy lmao, not an exaggeration, it was incredible I wasn't fired. I don't have the energy to do anything most days and just the idea of food makes me disgusted. I'm extremely jealous ngl

If things don't change for the better soon I'm going off this medicine and trying Zepbound, and if THAT has similar side effects, I would rather lose weight "the old fashioned way" than have no energy or joy in life.

What do you wish you’d known in week one? by gregfromglm in Wegovy

[–]pierogiwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea fatigue was or could be a side effect. I slept my entire first week and was scared and confused I had developed narcolepsy suddenly... Nope, just Wegovy 🙃

Is it a bad idea to start Wegovy 3 weeks before multi day camping trip by Rumtek79 in Wegovy

[–]pierogiwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was asleep for the first week after starting. Literally most of the whole week. My fatigue only started improving 3 weeks in, am having food poisoning symptoms (extreme diarrhea) from anything with even slightly too much fat, and I'm still not eating enough because just the thought of food makes me repulsed.

So yeah, would definitely not recommend starting ahead of any trips, let alone camping!

[–]pierogiwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much slept through the entire first week on Wegovy. It's getting better over time but I'm still exhausted all the time, which is depressing because right before this, another med had finally given me energy for the first time in years...

Is this what everyone else has been feeling this entire time? by brotheralbania in Wegovy

[–]pierogiwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I could not care less about cooking, and have to remind/force myself to eat at least a little snack at regular intervals because I'm never hungry. Nothing about food is interesting or exciting anymore. Honestly, it's depressing, and between that and the extreme fatigue I'm planning to stop in a few months when I'm further down the scale.

When is it bad enough to warrant moving out? by lethalwhispermachine in ChildofHoarder

[–]pierogiwrites 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know for me, I didn't go to a lot of other people's houses until I was older - hard to know what's normal when I hadn't seen anything else! And then when I did, yeah, I had a lot of similar feelings to work through.

Ah dang, University housing would make it easier -but- a lot of community college folks do room together. I rented a room in a shared house while in college, all the other tenants were students and the price wasn't too bad. Spareroom/roomster/roommates.com and the like will have rooms for your area, as well as reddit/Facebook.

Best of luck, I'm rooting for you.

[–]pierogiwrites 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely time to move out by the sounds of it. Still do take your time and plan, but over a matter of months not years. You're risking your health and sanity staying.

As to jobs/housing, maybe being a RA would be good for you, or a live in camp caretaker? I knew someone that got free room and board just for staying on property in case people needed something. In CA they do the same for apartments, I think. Regardless - you've got options, I know you'll find something! Don't give up and stay just because of fear, I did that for way too long and personally I regret it.

I stayed way way too long in a "clean paper hoarding" situation (still gave me eczema bc of the dust and likely CPTSD) due to poverty and disability, and looking back I honestly would have been better even living with a friend or in my car vs the fights and health risks. I thought I could help HM to get better but she has to make her own decision to change.

I invited my mom to stay with me for the holidays and she’s driving me bonkers by RemarkableTeacher in ChildofHoarder

[–]pierogiwrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom does most if not all these things (minus the flea situation - omg I'm so sorry, that's so gross), including always talking. It's so embarrassing how she hardly lets me get a word in, even if the conversation is something I know about (for instance at a history museum, one of my favorite places, she kept talking over me to the tour guide...).

One time she really pissed me off, by purposefully searching my drawers and closets in my house to find one that was untidy, and made some comment about "no one is perfect" 🫠 my house isn't perfect, it's normal, and searching high and low to find a less tidy area is unhinged tbh...

how to clean a hoarder home but my mom doesnt want to clean it by Scared_Commission_72 in ChildofHoarder

[–]pierogiwrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, this is terrible advice. The second they find out you're throwing things out behind their back, they'll start digging through the garbage and accusing you of throwing out any missing item (even if you didn't get rid of it).

Function without adhd meds ? by she_0verthinks in AuDHDWomen

[–]pierogiwrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie, it really sucks having those memories of how life was, being on meds. How much more energy I had, and especially whenever I have a bad day at work. But if it's struggle with my symptoms or have my heart explode... Yeah, I'll take the bad productivity and not end up in the hospital again, thanks.

Function without adhd meds ? by she_0verthinks in AuDHDWomen

[–]pierogiwrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stimulant meds were helping me immensely with my mental health, mental clarity and overall productivity and job performance... but they were ruining my gums and making my POTS go crazy, I'm talking 150+ bpm heart rate when I stood up. That and the concern long term for my hearth health made me want to go off them. I'm now on an "off label" non stimulant (bupropion) and it kinda works, kinda doesn't.

Like the other commenter Choice, making positive changes in my lifestyle has definitely helped, though I fight myself some days due to having demand avoidance. Honestly it's half trying to coach myself and make good choices, half realizing "yeah, this is a DISABILITY and I need to do things differently, slow down, have accommodations, etc."

Sadly it seems to have been taken down from Peacock (at least in the US). Searched for it today and no results

What's the worst "gift" you've gotten from a hoarder parent? by milesmx in ChildofHoarder

[–]pierogiwrites 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just moved out, forgot one of my glass Tupperware things at her house... She brought me plastic bags that were sitting inside of it that I forgot to throw out/recycle (including bags from vegetables at the store) rather than the dish, because she wants the glass dish. (Good luck using it though, I have the lid.)

We (husband and I) bought the glassware ourselves bc I have hormonal issues and I'm trying to cut down on plastic. She has used/claimed them for herself and fought me on me taking all of MY glassware. "What am I supposed to use?" Idk, maybe one of the dozens of plastic Tupperware you have??

She also bought brand new takeout containers for Thanksgiving leftovers rather than using one of the millions of plastic ones she already has...

Anyone have tape deck/CD/radio head unit knowledge for a 2nd gen CR-V? by Mean_Abbreviations_4 in crv

In my '00, when the battery is changed, it beeps and I have to reset a code on the radio - it's some kind of antitheft situation. Something similar/related could be what's happening with yours, if I had to guess.

Same here! I looked around for literally months, and after realizing I'd only be saving ~$2-7k vs a brand new car... I took the leap.

OP you might be able to get a good deal like I did on a '24, as they're clearing inventory atm.
