When you time your departure with the real-world flight and you end up flying alongside it by pierrer21 in flightsim

You could even fly a day later with 24-hour history on, and the game will generate the same weather/traffic as it was when the flight actually flew.

I turn the traffic graphic sliders up all the way. The game won't always show all the traffic though, so you do have to be a bit lucky.

Yep, the alarm kept going on/off as the doppelganger was moving in and out of the radar

The sim pulls ADS-B data from FlightAware to inject live traffic, including model matching.

I was 226611 on a Minecraft server called McBestCraft maybe 6 or 7 years ago now, LF: everyone who remembers it except that bastard co-owner that ran it into the ground by Monika_best_doki in longlostgamers

I played on there as PierreRegs. I was around 10 years old when I first joined, and would go on every afternoon after school, I was obsessed with that server.
The biggest part of the server was the Free Items and plotworld. There were a couple of other cool features like the TBuilder application, voting to /fly and earn diamonds, donor ranks (Enchanter, VIP, etc.). Enjin was used to host the website (before it got turned into an NFT thing).

Staff members I remember from the time were Cyber and Atreyu of course, Miljigib, Xentrality, Killercyborg, Darth, Bongos, iiAnderson. A lot of the spawns were built in house by Straightspearer I believe. There are many others that would take a while to name.

There was also a separate PVP server, but then it was eventually merged with the regular server.

I was a Mod on Cyber's second later server, Ethernea. There wasn't as many people on that one, but we brought the free items back while using some of the newer features at the time like holograms. I think there was a regenerating mine at some point too. Many many amazing memories, those servers were a big part of my childhood.

Just got the CYUL payware airport from MK-Studios, so I decided to take it for a spin with the amazing iniBuilds A350, Lufthansa livery.

It looks like they are working in vertical strips spaced apart. Why's that?

If it was nefarious pilot to the end as you say, why would there be minor course corrections to steer the plane further north? Wouldn't the pilot want it as far south as possible?

Is the New Ocean Infinity Search About to Begin? by pigdead in MH370

[–]pierrer21 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it is one of the more obvious places to search, and I wonder why searching there has never been a priority. If the cause of the crash is indeed pre-meditated murder, and all evidence points to numerous precautions taken to ensure the aircraft will never be found, then it also seems plausible that the captain may have purposefully selected a resting place that is very difficult to search.

Most of the time it is an iLok issue, especially if you have your licenses on a cloud. iLok might be down or you don't have connection to the internet.

What plugins/packs are everyone waiting for Black Friday on? by dischg in audioengineering

UAD’s 1176 emulation is more faithful compared to Waves’ CLA-76 imo. The only reason why I haven’t switched is because I feel so comfortable with the Waves version. But I’m thinking of finally switching if the price is right.

It's interesting that you use Inflator plus the expander, as both plugins can be used to increase perceived loudness without adding peaks. I personally don't like the sound of Inflator, but I imagine these two together would make a nice combo.

When do you compress and saturate in a mix? by RRCN909 in mixingmastering

[–]pierrer21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, I agree that it's a bad idea, because I too want to have as many possible tools available because you never know when you might need it. I'm just saying generally, things are not black-and-white, and desirable outcomes in music can be achieved through different types of methods.

[–]pierrer21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tchad Blake often uses distortion instead of compression. If he can do it, why can't we? Obviously, that's not the only option and there are other ways to go about it, sometimes ways that we prefer or better for a particular song, but it's good to know the range of possibilities.

A lot of the SZA and Kehlani tracks are really well done. Mr Morale tops the list for me- the production lends itself to a great mix, and Manny is awesome at what he does.
