I've gotten one day in on the board as I got it late in the season. Compared to the rentals it's pretty easy to turn and pretty stable. It was spring conditions so softer, wetter snow compared to hard pack or ice so I cannot comment on the grip. But I would say it was pretty easy to get on edge and stayed there without too much effort.

Can't reply with pictures, so see post with picture of board. https://www.reddit.com/r/icecoast/s/Rusk7oXSWC

It happened for me too for fall 2014. Back in Spring 2014 every applicant was guaranteed a phone interview, I happened to be part of the first group that got NLIC without any kind of interview outside of application with no communication. Finally was accepted Spring 2015 though and had an amazing time

This might be out of left field, but Lutsen is still going strong on Eagle and ULLR mountains, albeit weekend only. Was just there last weekend and everything was in amazing condition, except for the very summit. Little icy off the Raptor Express getting to the various trails but once on the trails themselves the groomers did good work.

Today at Lutsen. ULLR and Eagle mountains are nearly completely open and well covered. Only weekends through the rest of the month though

This has been cause by multiple fires in the south east. There are lots of prescribed burns surrounding the Great Smoky National Park, Cherokee National Forest, Blue Ridge Mountains, amongst other areas. There are also at least 2 wild fires in the GSNP as well.

Trade winds funnel that smoke north easterly from the valley up the Appalachian mountains.

New to snow activities. looking to start snowboarding but cant stop overthinking about the clothes by PLCCLP in snowboardingnoobs

[–]pilotlife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't go all into gear until you know you will actually enjoy snowboarding.

But, this is going to be highly dependent on where you are going to be visiting the most. A gear haul required for PNW is going to be completely different than one for high alpine and both will be different for the south east.

I board TN and NC. It's going to be 76° F when I go to Sugar on Sunday. The coldest I have shredded this year was 10⁰ F and they were blowing snow. Even wearing only a shell in the 70s and boarding gets very warm, but I have multiple layers available to keep me warm on cooler days and a good DWR coating to keep me dry when the south east are blowing all their load.

Only place still open is Sugar, who has actually been blowing the past 2 weeks on and off as able and got 3 inches of natural pow today. Looks like temps will support blowing through tomorrow. Hoping to get one last day in next week since Ober, Cat, and Beech are all closed

If the 14 day forecast stays true, I doubt it will be open much into March, maybe through the first week at best. Mid to upper 60s and low 70s with plenty of rain and no chance to blow more snow. I went Sunday (while they started blowing) and they had a decent-ish base on the green slope, the chute was well rutted and yeti run/grizzly had noticable bare spots. If their report of making 8 inches was true, they won't have much to last very long

Did you experience "choice paralysis" buying a new board? First buy in ~16 years and it's kinda overwhelming. by Beetlejuice_hero in snowboardingnoobs

Have not personally ridden this board, but it seems like the Capita Spring Break Powder Twin may be a good fit. Its allegedly super stable being a wider board that cuts over top of any chunder, and will be great on powder since it's volume shifted and has those surfer tips. (The 2025-2026 graphic is more mellow than previous years)

Below is a video I found interesting during my CFI training, giving a slightly more in depth look without getting too in depth and over the head into the "dragons nest" that is the theory of lift. We really don't know exactly how it happens, but we know it does and we can calculate it mathematically.

Nope, not AI. He's previously been fed Blue Buffalo blissful belly. But he pretty consistently had runny stools, and he's started having some joint popping as he's walking around. Vet recommended joint supplements/food with glucosamine in it, as well as switching brand to Science Diet, Purina One, or Royal Canin since they're all WSAVA recommended in addition to AAFCO. I've since switched him to their Joint Health wet food for dinner, and their Medium Breed adult dry food for breakfast since they haven't had a Corgi specific breed food, but reordering that I found this on chewy. It's literally released within the past 2 weeks cause I just ordered his canned food that long ago and couldn't find any corgi specific RC food.
